Friday Afternoon Roundup - Vote Dorner

I'M NOT FULL OF MYSELF, I'M A SOCIALIST

In 1986, at the closing session of the Communist Party shindig in the Karl Marx Theater in Havana, Castro had declared, “Let no one think that what I have here is a lengthy speech; it is the party’s program.” He then went on to speak for 7 hours and 10 minutes.

Obama’s ridiculous 6600-word marathon is also not a lengthy speech; it is the party’s program.

As out of touch with the rest of the country as if he were speaking at the Karl Marx Theater in Havana, Obama claimed that spending was under control, the national debt was no longer a problem, the war in Afghanistan had been won, the economic recovery was here, unemployment was fading and Al Qaeda was a shadow of its former self.

There were more calls to fix all those broken bridges, which he had somehow been unable to fix for four years, despite running trillion dollar deficits. And finally a proposal to really help the economy take off by legalizing 11 million illegal aliens and thereby doubling the unemployment rate in a single year.

Any Diogenes in the audience taking it upon himself to shout “liar” at every lie would have worn out his vocal chords in a matter of minutes.

Obama finds his Inner Castro, Lets It Out to Play on National Television.

ORDINARY HEROISM

Not many people have focused in on the insanely arrogant conclusion to Obama’s whopper of a speech which compared a woman who waited on line to cast her vote for him, with a wounded police war and a woman who looked after newborns during Hurricane Sandy.

In Obama’s America, waiting on line for hours is the new heroism. Sure saving babies and stopping a gunman is nice, but what really matters is voting for more free stuff. And waiting on line is fine for unimportant things, like waiting to see a doctor, but not for important things, like voting for Obama.

“I’m very happy, very proud,” she said, communicating through a translator because she speaks only Haitian Creole.

Is there some moral heroism in ripping off a country that you have never worked in and whose language you have never even learned?

SHOULD CHRIS DORNER BE THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE IN 2016?

While on the surface this may sound like a risky proposition, let's think about it for a minute.

In his manifesto, Chris Dorner expressed his support for moderate Republicans like Jim Huntsman and Chris Christie, even calling Hunsman his candidate of choice. Dorner is obviously a liberal Republican and we can't afford to pass up a minority member who is also a moderate Republican.

Dorner's candidacy could be just what the Republican Party needs to turn its image around. I know all the negatives, but let's look at the positives first.

Chris Dorner supports gun control and writes about evolving on gay marriage. He's well versed in pop culture and made his manifesto go viral. Those are important skills in a candidate. While we don't know his position on immigration, it's quite possible that despite his dislike of Asians and Mexicans, he might actually be for it making him the perfect moderate Republican.

His support for Obama shows that Dorner has real bipartisan chops and could be able to unite the country after years of petty bickering.

Unfortunately Dorner is dead, but that's no reason to rule out his candidacy. Running Dorner in 2016 is no crazier than the Republican establishment trying to legalize 11 million Democratic voters or sections of the Conservative blogsphere trying to follow Pat Buchanan into the Leftist Anti-War camp.

I have seen more positive mentions of Glenn Greenwald in one week on conservative blogs than I have in ten years, as bloggers educate themselves on the Great Satan's murderous Drone Rampage against innocent Muslim women and children and they can shortly be expected to begin understanding why the 3,000 people killed on September 11 had it coming and how Israel starts all the wars.

So why not Chris Dorner? If we're going to commit political, moral and intellectual suicide, let's go out in moderate Republican style. The platform is already coming together. Yes to illegal immigration. No to killing terrorists. No to burning serial killers alive in cabins. Yes to internet gambling. Yes to legalizing marijuana. No to the pink elephants in the corner. Yes to peace in our time.

MUSLIM VALENTINE'S DAY IS VERY DIFFERENT

A man has killed his pregnant teenage sister in south Lebanon in what was seen as an honor crime – the murder of a woman accused of shaming her family.

Later on Friday, LBCI television reported that the investigation with Jihad revealed that he had raped his sister, which lead to her pregnancy.

“He confessed to raping his sister,” LBCI said, adding that Jihad claimed he was drunk when the incident happened.

The television channel added that he had only recently found out about the pregnancy and asked his sister to undergo an abortion, but she refused.

LOVE CONQUERS COW

You might be tempted to confuse this tale with Romeo and Juliet. And it is a lot like Romeo and Juliet, or it would be if Juliet’s father had traded her for a cow.

Ali. O, like so many enterprising Korkunians, one afternoon during the Muslim commemoration of Ramadan, decided to make the deal of a lifetime with the stepson of his brother. The stepson would get his daughter and Ali would get a cow. The stepson delivered the cow and now it was time for the next part of the deal.

“I promised, I took the cow. Now you have to get married,” Ali O. told his daughter Guller O.

Like all romantic heroines, Guller did not want to be traded for a cow and fled to her aunt’s house in Ankara, where Ali began making threatening phone calls to her insisting that she go through with the wedding.

YOU MUST BE THIS TALL TO FALL OFF THIS RIDE

Every job has a minimum requirement. The absolute very least that anyone can do without being considered a complete and utter failure.

The minimum requirement for a Commander-in-Chief is to stick around when an American diplomatic mission is under fire. Obama flunked even this minimal requirement by going to sleep and then flying off for a fundraiser in Vegas.

The minimum requirement for a Secretary of State is to at least pretend to care why such an attack took place. Hillary Clinton failed that minimum requirement by declaring that it didn’t matter why the attack happened.

The minimum requirement for a Vice President is to avoid becoming a national embarrassment. Biden has failed miserably at that.

LIVING DIVERSITY EVERY DAY

The fight, students say, was the result of long-simmering tensions between the 8 percent of students who are Somali Americans and the 20 percent who are African Americans.

Another student, Symone Glasker, said that an initial fight happened during the school’s first lunch period. She said the fights were over pride.

“I know it’s a pride thing between Muslims and black people,” she said. “They want their pride back for something. I don’t know.”

She also said “boys were hitting girls” and that some people were lying on the floor, with their hands over their heads, in surrender.

Stan Alleyne, the Minneapolis Public Schools chief of communications, gave a statement, saying South High is a school that continually makes the district proud.

“South is a very diverse high school,” Alleyne said. “It is a microcosm of the city. Students function together at a high level every day. That is the strength of this school. Our students live diversity every day.”

This is Minneapolis. This is Minneapolis on diversity.

THE TRUE VOICE OF CONSERVATISM

The pro-Amnesty crowd has taken a break from claiming that legalizing 11 million illegal aliens in the only hope for the Republican Party to target their critics, not with facts and arguments, but with a smear campaign.

The irony of “conservative” groups accusing other conservative groups of compromising their purity by using arguments from the left, while using arguments from the left to make that accusation is obvious. It was the Southern Poverty Law Center that used the eugenics angle in attacking groups critical of immigration policy and tried to tie that in to Nazism. Now the pro-Amnesty crowd is using the eugenics smear to call them radical environmentalists.

How can anyone who supports turning red states blue really claim to be the true voice of conservatism?

HE FOUGHT THE VAMPIRES AND FREED THE BEATLES

It’s natural for Sheila Jackson Lee to be confused. Lincoln did just come out and Sheila probably thinks that he freed the slaves and fought vampires.

The only problem is that Sheila Jackson Lee confused the 1860s with the 1960s when she was actually growing up. Considering that she didn’t know how the Vietnam War ended, that’s not completely shocking, but you would think that she would remember that as a child she did not live on on a plantation.

Sheila Jackson Lee was from the slave-owning state of New York, from a plantation in Jamaica, Queens. (While Jamaica did have slaves, Jamaica, Queens did not, again accounting for Sheila Jackson Lee’s confusion.)

THE 911 THESES

Is scrawling a depiction of 9/11 on the door of a Muslim organization linked to that terrorist attack by way of its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda a hate crime?

The MSA has always argued that its attacks on Israel are political and protected by free speech. So when the MSA depicts Israel as a Nazi state and terrorists as heroes, it is practicing free speech. The MSA in conjunction with SJP has picketed Holocaust memorials while screaming hate. But that’s not a bias incident. That’s free speech.

So why is a picture of the worst Muslim atrocity in American history a bias incident?

THE OPTOMETRIST WILL TAKE OUT YOUR GALL BLADDER NOW

As the state moves to expand healthcare coverage to millions of Californians under President Obama’s healthcare law, it faces a major obstacle: There aren’t enough doctors to treat a crush of newly insured patients.

Some lawmakers want to fill the gap by redefining who can provide healthcare. They are working on proposals that would allow physician assistants to treat more patients and nurse practitioners to set up independent practices.

Pharmacists and optometrists could act as primary care providers, diagnosing and managing some chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and high-blood pressure.

And the kid down the block who worked as a lifeguard, he can treat your broken leg. The EMT in your neighborhood is now your primary care physician.

GUESS THE QUOTE SOURCE

As part of al Qaeda, ‘people had the opportunity to make a difference, and that’s a powerful thing’, and in his view, there wasn’t ‘that much of a difference between the terrorists and the counter-terrorists.’ For him, both the CIA and the Base for Islamic Jihad give people the chance to be part of something greater than themselves.

ONLY OBAMA COULD GO TO ISRAEL

Relations between the United States and Turkey have been deteriorating over Obama’s failure to arm the Syrian rebels and get Turkey into the European Union. But Istanbul is probably one of the few places that Obama can still visit.

Cairo and Tunis would have been safe bets a year ago, but now they’re political minefields. Visiting them means endorsing controversial Islamist regimes that are murdering and mutilating protesters. Obama may support their Islamist governments, but the optics are bad. And his visit is sure to touch off even bigger protests, including protests that the authorities may not be able to adequately protect him from. If the Egyptian authorities weren’t able to keep Ahmadinejad from getting shoed twice, then a sneaker or a loafer may find its way to Obama’s face as well. And the media would have trouble covering that one up.

That leaves the dictatorships he initially condemned. A visit to Saudi Arabia or Kuwait would just highlight the failures of the Arab Spring and the continuing support of the United States for tyranny over democracy… etc.

Even if Obama does make quick controlled visits to Cairo or Tunis or any other Arab Spring country, or longer ones to Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, going to Israel will lessen the optics problem by providing him with political cover and make it harder to read political messages into the trip.

Why is Obama Going to Israel?

EGYPT LOCKS UP DUMBEST MAN IN ISRAEL

Pshenichnikov told The Associated Press. “I call for other Israelis who support the existence of a state of Palestine to do the same, to come live in the West Bank or Gaza as Palestinians.”

Residents say he was initially treated with suspicion. Many Palestinians suspected him of being an Israeli spy and Palestinian officials eventually handed him over to Israeli authorities. But Pshenichnikov remained undeterred, returning to Deheishe where was apprehended by Palestinian forces and handed over to Israel again.

An Egyptian court sentenced an Israeli to two years in prison Monday, months after arresting him for sneaking into the Sinai in an attempt to enter Gaza.

Pshenichnikov, who immigrated to Israel with his family from Tadjikistan 13 years ago, caused a stir last year when he declared that he wished to renounce his Israeli citizenship and adopt Palestinian citizenship.

“I hate Zionism,” he told the Associated Press in June 2012. “I want to be part of the Palestinian resistance.”

CURSE OF THE TIMERMANS

Hector Timerman has once again proven that he is a true son of his father, Jacobo Timerman. Jacobo achieved leftist sainthood due to his supposed torture by the Argentinian government for his left-wing activities, in a region where the line between the left and the leftist terrorist is often blurry.

That would not be interesting in and of itself, but Jacobo Timerman wrapped his claims of martyrdom in the cloak of anti-semitism, claiming that he had been singled out because he was a Jew. He even compared what was going on in Argentina to a new Holocaust.

Timerman moved to Israel where he wrote his martyrdom biography and then he wrote another book denouncing Israel for being just like Nazi Germany. “We’re all Palestinians,” Argentina’s worst export ever screeched. “I have discovered in Jews a capacity for cruelty that I never believed possible … I fear that in our collective subconscious we are not perhaps repelled by the possibility of a Palestinian genocide.”

 LIVE OR DIE

Until I was a victim of Arab terrorism it seemed more "something that only happens to others."  Even though it had happened at a time when there were many Arab terror attacks, most common were the suicide bus bombers, I did not go around thinking that "my time would be soon," or that there would be a "my time" at all.  I'm not really paranoid.  I'm just an ordinary relatively pragmatic person.

Unexpectedly, the attack, and my minor injury did not increase my personal fear and worry.  I actually felt calmer about my personal safety.  Being a victim of such an attack reinforced the knowledge that I have no control.  The Arab terrorists control the actual time and place and G-d controls the results, whether we live, die, suffer permanent or minor injuries.

THE INDUSTRY OF GOVERNMENT

He is a man who, like Marxists everywhere, does not recognize basic psychology. Obama and his fellow travelers believe that man is motivated purely by materialism, by physical need and desires. The spiritual dimension is of no consequence. The infinite mirrors of human consciousness is reflexively reduced to a specific political ideology. Individual aspirations and achievements have been rewritten as the work of an amorphous collective, the Obama we.

Obama is steeped in a rigid political agenda. Like a Stalinist bureaucrat, or a mad, narcissistic New Age preacher, he plows over dissent and ignores economic realities, all the while scorning and caricaturing the very beliefs and values he claims to represent. His is the utopian dream world of the prosperous political class whose lives are dedicated to a bloated, dogma-ridden, authoritarian government.

In Obama’s America we no longer make stuff in order to prosper and live a better life.

In Obama’s America, we manufacture government in order to make more government.

PARTY WITHOUT A HEAD

Since 2008 I’ve typed my fingers hoarse on how the GOP is well and truly dead and has been since McCain. Sure, the GOP has community level offices. Offices that are not involved in the community, are not bringing value to their constituents, but that are really good at holding their hat in their hand and asking for support.

They local GOP dons are greedy to move up the political power ladder, but they do it by sheer dint of personality and powerful connections, never thinking to build a base of ordinary, decent, conservative voters. Lazy, selfish, and clueless, they never look around or down to see who they can actually help. The hoi-polloi are too grimy for their country club standards. I’m sorry, but the GOP owns that visual logo, even if Conservatives do not.

It still remains, however, that Conservatives happily sent their children to public schools while they chased after ever more crap to fill the void in their life that sprang from where they left the church pew and left off having more children. So, the GOP’s natural growth base is lost to the Narrative, and the imported, unwashed masses are mere pets in the GOP’s estimation. Throw ‘em a bone now and again. Why that’s good enough for any dog, but it’s no way to treat human beings. Or win hearts and minds.

  4. Mr. Greenfield
I was introduced to your blog today by someone who claimed you were the most intelligent substantive conservative writer he read, and that every piece you write hits home. And, with that in mind, I have spent the last hour or so perusing your writing, and while I had criticisms of every piece I read, this piece on Obama's SOTU was the most glaringly superficial, lacking either substance or accuracy.

    Here follows my critique:

(#A) The criticism of Obama's speech that you are leading with is its *length* (which is pure superficial, were it even true), and (#B) the excessive length is your sole evidence to substantiate your "socialist" claim, and (#C) you provide not one single actual piece of socialist *content* to prove your claim .... and further, (#D) the length is the ONLY attribute that you use to liken it to Castro's, and (#E) rather than comparing the length in an apples (time) to apples (time) metric (ie, to comparing Castro's 7 hours and 10 minutes to Obama's 60 minutes), which, if you had done, would have illustrated the absolute absurdity of your comparison, (#F) you compare apples (time) to oranges (words), which makes your comparison meaningless. And, (#G) what about that word length? You characterize it as "marathon" ... but was it (historically speaking) "marathon" in length, compared to other SOTU speeches? No, sir, it was not.

Was it longer than the historical average? Sure. Slightly.

It was hardly comparatively "marathon" in length.

    To illustrate:
    * Historical Average Since Reagan: 5,488

    * Clinton's average: 7,426
    * GW Bush's average: 5,184
    * Obama's Average (previous): 7,080

I mean, maybe Clinton's 1995 SOTU @ 9190 words might be characterized as "marathon" but Obama's 2013 SOTU running at 6775 words can hardly be called that, unless it serves your ANTI-OBAMA narrative.

  5. (part 2 of 3)

Next, you characterize the speech as " ridiculous" and your evidence of this is what? And further, you claim Obama is "As out of touch with the rest of the country" ... yet, strangely, he won a decisive electoral victory in Nov.2012, and further, all of the polls suggest that his initiatives are favored by the majority. In short, you seem to be parroting the FAILED talking points of the GOP, which, in case you haven't noticed, were proven to be "out of touch with the rest of the country" ..... in other words.... your words sound like nothing more than wishful thinking.

But, out of due respect, let me take your points one by one:

(#1) "Obama claimed that spending was under control..."

Can you delineate what about the Obama Administration's spending is not done in a smart necessary and "controlled" manner?

(#2) "the national debt was no longer a problem..."

Two unpaid for wars, started by Bush, probably played a huge role in this, not to mention everything else Bush left Obama with, from the collapse economy in freefall, to a crumbling infrastructure, etc. And so you recommend what? I know, I know, I should spend more time reading your blog to answer that fully, but I think I can safely assume that you are preaching some sort of "severe austerity" measures, and that seems have been doing wonders for EEC..... NOT SO MUCH! Well, not even a little, in fact, I think it is safe to say that their austerity measures are tanking their already abysmal state of affairs.

As mentioned above, you seem to be parroting the typical GOP talking points, and following that example, I might surmised that, like most conservatives, you parrot the talking point about the USA being a "household in debt" but the problem is that the USA is not akin to a "household in debt" ... rather, the USA is akin to a BUSINESS with the following: (A) crumbling infrastructure and (B) untrained workers and (C) a product line that needs to be converted to a new product line to match a changing market place, so, either (a) that Business takes out new loans, and spends on (i) capital improvements (ie: infrastructure) and (ii) education, or (b) it goes out of business, and so, unless you are advocating for the dissolution of the USofA, then clearly, the USA should borrow and spend on necessary stimulus related to education and infrastructure, and once the USA has FULLY recovered and is THRIVING, then it can handle the debt.

    Duh!!!

    That's BUSINESS 101, Sir.

(#3) "the war in Afghanistan had been won..."

That's not what Obama said, he said that we would "achieve our objective of defeating the core of al Qaeda" and that our role will be transitioning. Now, since neither Bush nor Cheney defined the "win" scenario, it is kind of hard for anyone to say what "won" or "lost" means, but please do tell me exactly what you claim is "won" and then we can substantiate whether or not we have achieve it, or is it your belief that we should just keep fighting there indefinitely?

(#4) "the economic recovery was here..."

Well, since the main economic indicators have been progressively on an upward trend, I think it is clear that the "recovery" is underway, but that does not mean that we have fully "recovered" from the utter travesty that Bush left us in. And further, Obama's achievements were accomplished IN SPITE of the GOP's "filibuster terrorism" stalling virtual every reasonable effort, all because the GOP wanted to win the 2012 elections, so I would say that he did an impressive job.

    (#5) "unemployment was fading..."

Well, unemployment has been going down.

    ReplyDelete
  6. (part 3 of 3)

(#6) "Al Qaeda was a shadow of its former self..."

    Yes, well, it is.

(#7) "There were more calls to fix all those broken bridges, which he had somehow been unable to fix for four years, despite running trillion dollar deficits."

Ahhh .... "somehow unable to fix" ... seriously???

Do you really believe everyone has forgotten about FOUR YEARS OF "GOP FILIBUSTER TERRORISM?"

Please. You conservatives will never retake control of this nation with pure BS like that... not today. Maybe, prior to the internet's dominance, people could easily be programmed to believe (remember) whatever you conservatives want them to remember, but Fox News no longer controls the narrative, because if they did, then Romney would have won in 2012. But, NEWSFLASH: HE LOST.

(#8) "And finally a proposal to really help the economy take off by legalizing 11 million illegal aliens and thereby doubling the unemployment rate in a single year."

Hmm... First of all, the USA was built on immigrants.

Second of all, what exactly do you propose? Evict them? Good luck. You are living in a fantasy land, if you think that such a thing is even possible.

Third of all ... yes, I read your piece on "Failed State Colonization - The Greatest Threat of Our Time"... and while I don't have the time to critique that piece right now in detail, here is my assessment of the main flaw in your rationale:

** The Economy is not a zero-sum game. Innovation trumps everything, and you never know which immigrant might provide the game changer, and that is the USA's strength. Your thinking is "small-minded hoarding of limited resources fear" driven, not "open minded free-market innovation" driven.

    MISTER-ASDF

  7. Sense,

the thrust of that piece was not about the length of the address, that was the framing mechanism.

Obama won the cities. Those are also the most dysfunctional areas of the country. And most of his initiatives do not have majority support. Even ObamaCare is still in the red in many polls.

    1. We're running trillion dollar deficits. Is that your idea of smart or under control?

    2. Bush wasn't running trillion dollar deficits, so this isn't about him. Obama pulled out of Iraq yet kept spending more money than ever.

    3. I've already addressed that in the original piece.

    4. Bush was also claiming that a recovery was here. It's not a recovery when it doesn't touch most people.

    6. Al Qaeda overran most of Mali and is on track to take Syria. That makes it stronger than it was 4 years ago.

    7. Right. Yet despite filibuster Al Qaeda, those trillion dollar deficits were still run and the shovel ready projects shoveled.

    8. I propose not destroying the working class by legalizing 11 million illegal aliens. Obama's false choice rhetoric is a bad habit to adopt.

And for the working class and the unemployed man or woman it is indeed a zero sum game. We are not legalizing the next founder of Yahoo or Google, but the Day Laborer.

  8. Mr. Greenfield,

First let me say that I appreciate the time you've taken to respond and engage, and please know that it is out of respect that I am going to respond with brutal honesty.

I really would love to find a conservative voice that fully appreciates the dire nature of the GOP's cultural problem, and your response seems to epitomize the crux of it. If you want to win a debate and sway an informed audience (ie: that is not already a GOP loyalitst) you cannot simply ignore key points raised by the opposition... thinking that mere artful narrative will suffice.

    For example:

You choose to begin your peace (ie:"lead") with a "framing mechanism" that is a complete and utter lie.

So... you have completely lost your credibility.... with all impartial intelligent literate readers.

Now, GOP loyalitsts and brain washed Tea Party (aka John Birch Society) folks will love that "framing machanism" because it echoes their existing belief that "Obama is a Socialist."

But, let's be honest, it's not just a "framing mechanism" ... now is it?

    No.

What it is, is the primary MEME of the Tea Party.

You are trying to employ a social engineering device (a MEME) to color the audience's perception.

Look, you and your entire conservative culture need to realize that you do not control the narrative any longer. You cannot rely upon FASLE MEME's to win an argument and sway an impartial literate audience. And THAT'S why Romney lost. And THAT'S why the GOP is imploding.

So, rather than adhering to a basic college essay standard ("thesis proof conclusion") ... you cite a MEME: "Obama is a Socialist" with a colorful image of Castro speaking for over 7 hours.

A+ for Funny imagery ... HAHAHA...

    F for ZERO SUBSTANCE, .

You offer zero proof to substantiate the "Obama is a Socialist" ... nothing. Nada.

And you actually think that what you did was okay .... "business as usual" ... and all the while ... the GOP IS DYING. And you really don't see the connection, do you?

Karl Rove seems to have figured it out... since he is targeting Tea Party folks to primary them.... but you seem to still be parroting their MEME.

The GOP will never win any major election again, and will probably loose the House in 2014, if they and you think that a Tea Party MEMEs will work. They don't ... not any more.

Not with the Internet as the dominate media machine on the planet. The Internet requires that you actually make a substantiated argument with proofs and links, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Next:

    1. "trillion dollar deficits"

Hmm... and you think that phrase (MEME) wins the argument? Really? Seriously? I mean, sure... to your GOP loyalists for whom that MEME is a trigger, yeah... you've won.... but not for the rest of us who are literate and know that you ignored about five of my points, most especially: you COMPLETELY IGNORED my point about the "USA being a corporation" and what a corporation does..... (you might want to reread what I wrote.)

And the references to Bush and HIS TWO WARS signifies that ALL SPENDING for those wars, even after Bush left office, are effectively HIS ONUS. Yeah, sure, you can spin it however you like, and your GOP Loyalist will buy it.... but any literate impartial reader knows that those were BUSH's wars. And what about TARP deals? Now come on, do you seriously think that an impartial literate informed audience is not gonna lay blame on the administration whose gross criminal negligence with lack of regulatory oversight for that catastrophic collapse??? Seriously?

Look... you can try to use the "you can't blame Bush" MEME all you like, except it won't work when the informed audience KNOWS that Bush and the entire GOP's lack of regulatory oversight actually IS TO BLAME.

In other words... yes... it is about Bush ... sorry, i know that all you conservatives want everyone to forget the complete travesty of both his administration and the entire GOP under him in both Houses, and the utter failure of the rampant corruption in crony capitalism ... but it just won't happen .... again, maybe if FOX NEWS could control the narrative like they could prior to 2005 when the Internet began to become the dominant media machine usurping any one group's ability to misinform the populace. And for the record, I am all for capitalism.... just not "corrupt crony capitalism."

  10. 4. "not a recovery if it  doesn't touch most people"

ahhh... do you honestly not know the difference between "recovery has begun" and "recovery is complete"

because I am certain that you do

I just think that you want to push the MEME that "Obama is out of touch" ....

Seriously .... you are not gonna win this debate by misquoting Obama.

    That makes you a liar.

    And....

Who cares what Bush claimed? That is what is called in logic, "false equivalency" ... look it up.

The fact that you used this and these underhanded tactics shows, yet again, that you lack literary journalistic ethics. Again, this is very representative of the cultural problems that are killing the GOP.

    Ethics.

You reference the "call Obama a liar" incident when that lowlife did that in congress, yet you are the one doing the lying numerous times here...

    Mr. Greenfield: "POT MEET KETTLE!"

And you actually believe these responses win you the argument.

    Mark my words... they don't.

Ryan lied how many times in his  GOP Convention speech? And do you honestly believe that his lying had zero to do with the fact that they experienced almost no bumps in the polls from their convention?

And sure... Romney lied too... but more than that ... neither Romney nor Ryan provided any serious substance (details) in their speeches.

And sure, Romney won the first debate ... by freakin LYING!! And so the only reason Romney came out "the winner" was because Obama felt it undignified to call a Presidential opponent A LIAR even though it was the truth.

    But even so... R/R lost.

Romney and Ryan tried lying .... and they lost ....

So... you might want to seriously reconsider your approach. Because simplistic unsubstantiated MEMES that can be easily debunked will not sway an Internet community ... and even if they do, for a "minute" ... they can just as easily be flipped one minute later, and the MEME that is substantiated will have staying power. The false one, will not.

And your response to #5 proves my point .... You don't like a fact, because it conflicts with your narrative.... What do you do?  You just skip it, and hope nobody notices.

    I noticed.

    6. The situation in Syria is way more complicated than your offhand comment suggests and whatever the full nature of the situation in Syria is, it is hardly representative of the state of affairs of the Al Qeada organization.

    7. I didn't use the phrase  "filibuster Al Qeada" ..

    I used the phrase:

     "GOP FILIBUSTER TERRORISM"

and hey, I get why you conservatives don't want to hear THAT meme, but... Unfortunately for you, THAT meme is substantiated ... so it (or a variant thereof... sticks... and whether you like it or not, it's why the GOP is dying:

     "GOP FILIBUSTER TERRORISM"

    that killed the GOP

Clearly, you like the "trigger word":
     "Al Qeada"

It helps with your MEME approach to debating

Unfortunately, it hurts your ability to win a debate, because your credibility as an honest journalist goes out the window.

And all the while ... you ignore the fact that the GOP used the filibuster to destroy Obama ... and it backfired.

Not only did it not beat Obama, it destroyed the entire GOP.

    Talk about stupid.

And, even worse than that...  when it comes to "learning from their mistakes" ... the GOP FAILS!

    And you're not helping.

    8. First of all, I didn't ask you what you propose we "not do" ... I asked you what you propose WE DO DO!!!

Please try to answer the questions asked.

    Double-speak won't work.

Artfully dodging a question won't work.

    NEWSFLASH: Substantive responses work!

And last but not least ...

    *FACT*
YOU HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHO THE MEXT GENIUS INVENTOR IS.

    NONE.

So... your "day laborer" comment is meaningless.

And THAT is why the GOP is dying: because you lack substance and ethics.
