New Movie Poster Released for Munich

  1. Excellent post! The picture and caption aptly convey what needs to be conveyed.

Though I have no doubt in my mind that the reprobates in Hollywood will nominate this monstrocity called Munich for an Academy Award. Every crime victims' advocate in the area should attend and protest.

I would refer Speilberg to the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma. It's a global network of journalists, journalism educators and health care professinals dedicated to improving media coverage of trauma, conflict and tragedy that assists crime victims as well as working journalists--from the hardcore war correspondent to the reporter covering the daily police beat.

The Dart Center was founded by Dr. Frank Ochberg, a professor in the Dept. of Psychology at the University of Michigan.

As Ochberg says, "We are a wonderful species, but also a deplorable species, contaminated by cruelty, indifference..arrogance and hypocrisy."

Cruelty, indifference, arrogance, and hypocrisy are at the core of Munich, both the movie and the actual event.

What crime victims need most (as far as media coverage is concerned) is sensitivity but more than anything else TRUTHFULNESS. They don't want their suffering, fear, pain minimized to avoid giving a race of people or community a 'black eye' so to speak.

Speilberg saw that when he made Schindler's List, why the double standard with Munich?
Implying that criminals are no different morally, ethically, or in terms of culpability from innocent victims is extremely hurtful and traumatizing.

Speilberg calls Munich his prayer for peace. My prayer is that all victims receive justice, and that their stories are told accurately and completely--remembering the victims as victims and the murderers as murderers.

  2. oops, I transposed the letter in SPIELBERG'S name. Unlike the famed director, I care about accuracy.
