Friday Afternoon Roundup - So God Made a Democrat

God looked down on Washington D.C. and said "I need someone who will steal morning, noon and night. Who will steal from the rich to give to the poor and steal from the poor to give to the rich and fool them all and keep all the loot."

So God made a Democrat.

God said, "I need college man to come to a farm and tell the farmer that he can't feed his hogs with lettuce from his own farm or use the manure from his pigs to grow his lettuce. I need an inspector who will tell him how much he can sell his milk for and warn him that his son riding on the tractor constitutes child labor. I need someone to pay a farmer not to farm so that poor people can't afford bread."

So God made a Democrat.

"I want a union organizer who hires non-union picketers to keep workers from working, a politician who fights for the people by taking money from billionaires and a clergyman who worships whoever runs on the party line. I want a banker who fights for the poor and gives to the party and a party that pays the poor man eight times to vote for the banker's man."

So God made a Democrat.

"I need someone to retire at 55 with generous benefits from a government job.  I need lawmakers who will pass laws without reading them. I need teachers who refuse to teach kids unless they're paid twice as much as any worker in their city. I need people to sit on commissions and make rules about lines of work that they've never been in."

So God made a Democrat
"I need a Catholic who's for abortion. A Jew who's for Palestine. A Mormon who's against the Church. A Baptist who's for evolution. A Methodist who doesn't believe in god. And a Muslim who believes in destroying America."

So God made a Democrat.

He said, "I need someone who starts all the wars and protests against all the wars. Who is first in line to sign up to fight against his country but comes out as a pacifist when it's time to defend it. I want war heroes who throw their medals over fences and then gather them up again when it's time to run for office. I want men who are for everything before they're against it"

So God made a Democrat.

"I need a working class man who who has never worked a day in his life, but always talks about caring for those who do. I need a man who talks all the time about helping women, blacks, lesbians, Eskimos and Martians get ahead and then drops them like a dirty rag when he has what he wants. A man who gets up at 11:30 in the afternoon to help the less fortunate by passing laws that will make them even less fortunate. A man who takes nine tenths of what's meant for the poor and lets them have the leftovers."

So God made a Democrat.

"I need a man who believes in himself too much to take responsibility for anything he did. I need a man who is tolerantly intolerant, who is outraged all day by everything in the world except his own outrageous behavior. I need a man who is for freedom of speech except when he's offended, for freedom of religion except when he disagrees with it and for the right to bear arms but only for those weapons that existed in 1791."

So God made a Democrat.

God said, "I need a party of jackasses that will always break through the fence and spoil everything that the farmer grows. I need bad men to test good men and liars, cheats and thieves with clipboards to teach neighbors to stick together against them. I need a man with no more conscience than a rattlesnake leading a band of fools with less sense than sheep. And I need him to keep the farmers and ranchers, the workers and doers on their toes so they always remember that evil never rests and keeping it down can sometimes be the hardest work of all."

So God made a Democrat.

This is the story of Michael A. Stokes, a bank robber serving a 73 year sentence, who decided to rename himself Ophelia Azriel De’lonta and pretend to be a woman.

But in a Democratic run justice system, it’s not enough for the inmate to be crazy, the court has to be just as crazy as he is.

So this is also the story of the Virginia Department of Corrections which not only allowed Michael Stokes to dress up as a woman, but also paid for his psychological counseling and hormone therapy.

But this is also the story of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, consists of Clinton and Obama appointees, who ruled that the failure to castrate Stokes violates the Eight Amendment’s Cruel and Unusual Punishment provision thereby making it Unconstitutional.

Who is the real lunatic in this story?

Federal Court Rules that Failure to Castrate Bank Robber is Cruel and Unusual Punishment

Hillary Clinton presided over the first murder of an American ambassador in thirty years. It was the closest thing to a notable moment in her time as Secretary of State, which concluded, in true Clinton style, with a cover-up, Senate hearings and more finger-wagging.

And yet, despite all that, the media threw her a farewell party in preparation for the 2016 election.  Four Americans died in Benghazi and in four years, Hillary Rodham Clinton expects to take the White House.

There is a certain symmetry to that. A year of political exile for every man she left unguarded and unsupported while lavishing millions on mosque renovations, embassy paintings and assorted trinkets. A year for every man whose blood was spilled on the warm streets of Benghazi. Four dead men and four years in which to prepare to do the same thing all over again as President of the United States.

It’s a big job and HRC finally has the experience for it.

Four more years. See the rest in Things Only a Democrat Could Get Away With

While the Republican Party leadership decided that the path to victory lies through creating 11 million new Democratic voters, the Conservative blogsphere decided to court that vital Al-Qaeda demographic by screaming that Obama was murdering American 17-year-olds without due process.

I clicked over to the leftist blogsphere half-hoping that it was Backward Day and that they had come out against gun control, abortion and deficit spending. But no such luck. They're evil, not stupid.

Sure the Republican Party could concentrate on its base. But that's in-the-box thinking. Out of the box and out of the mind thinking says that it should expand and find a new base. Like illegal aliens and Al Qaeda terrorists.

There's nothing like the sight of conservative blogs quoting Glenn Greenwald and Noami Wolf to denounce a drone strikes policy that began under the Bush Administration... and then complaining that the left doesn't care about the legality of drone strikes, when it's the left that has been yammering about this issue since those same people were hoping that Iraq would become the 51st State.

If those blogs were trying to make the Republican leadership's decision to embrace Amnesty seem sane by comparison. Mission accomplished.

Despite claims on a dozen blogs that Anwar Al-Awlaki was an innocent American teenager assassinated by a kill order, he was blown to his 72 Virgins because he was standing too close to an Al Qaeda leader. There was no due process involved because if you stand next to an Al Qaeda leader on a battlefield, you will die.

Due process under the American justice system applies to people in the United States, regardless of citizenship, who are arrested and charged with a crime in the United States.

Enemy combatants, whether they are members of an army or a terrorist group, can be killed by the United States military without regard to Due Process. There is no Due Process on the battlefield.

Due Process did not apply when the United States assassinated Admiral Yamamoto, the architect of Pearl Harbor. It would have applied had he been arrested in Hawaii, regardless of whether he was an American citizen or not. It did not apply when he was targeted as a member of an enemy force. It would not have applied even if he had picked up citizenship while living in the United States.

Due Process applies to the legal system. It does not apply to the military targeting enemy personnel. If it had, the United States would have had to check with a lawyer any time it faced a German unit with American traitors in its ranks, bring an indictment and hold a trial. The German Army could have taken back Paris by using them as human shields.

The entire argument is discredited left-wing propaganda from the Bush Administration that some people on the right have decided to scrape off the sidewalk and then put up on their blogs. It depends on the same refusal to distinguish between war and law enforcement that was the linchpin of the left's entire argument.

If adopting the pro-amnesty and pro-terrorist positions of the Democratic Party is supposed to be the comeback strategy of the Republican Party, then I have to ask, what exactly are we fighting for?

A Republican Party that has the spending, immigration, terrorism and social policies of the Democrats?

Wouldn't it just be easier to join the Democratic Party?

When waging war, the “due process” that allows the United States to unleash its military on its enemies is not an individualized process; it is the Act of Congress commencing hostilities (with the understanding, of course, that the inherent right of self-defense applies even before Congress can act). Following this congressional action, the conduct of hostilities — including the identification and selection of targets — is a military responsibility under the civilian supervision of the president and the secretary of defense. When waging war, the military can kill our enemies face-to-face in battle, while they sleep in their barracks or encampments, and even when they run away in fear. The deadly force stops when our enemies are hors de combat — for example, incapacitated by wounds or evidencing a clear intent to surrender. Attacking and killing the enemy isn’t assassination; it’s combat.

The intelligence and targeting challenge presented by our enemy’s systematic violation of the laws of war — by hiding amongst civilians, refusing to wear uniforms, etc. — is exactly the same regardless of whether the target is an American or Pakistani or Iraqi. In prior wars, American forces have reacted to targeting challenges not with greater restraint, but with greater firepower — for example, one of the reasons for the firebombing of Japanese cities was the decision by Japanese leaders to disperse key manufacturing facilities across urban areas, rendering European-style daylight bombing raids essentially fruitless. We were faced with the terrible choice between area bombing and leaving much of the enemy’s war machine essentially unmolested — in the midst of an existential struggle for our existence. We chose area bombing.

In the current war, we go to great lengths to avoid targeting the wrong individual (when I was in Iraq, our targeting decisions were typically based on multiple, overlapping pieces of intelligence). Killing the enemy while sparing civilians is sound counterinsurgency, and it is sound morally. But when civilians do die, the responsibility for their deaths lies with the enemy that unlawfully used them as human shields.

If all this sounds harsh, or “chilling,” or scary, that’s because it is. War is hell. And there is no constitutional doctrine that exempts American citizens from that hell when they choose to wage war against their own country.

That's David French at the National Review, explaining that Yes, the Military Can and Should Target American Members of Al-Qaeda

Lawrence Auster emphasizes that the US citizenship of an enemy combatant has no relevance at all on the battlefield.

Obama’s critics have no problem with Obama killing non-U.S. citizens who are waging terrorist war against America. But in reality the U.S. has no more a right to kill non-U.S. citizens than U.S. citizens, just as the U.S. has no more a right to arrest and imprison non-U.S. citizens than U.S. citizens. Non-U.S. citizens who are waging war against the United States and organizing terrorist attacks against the United States from a foreign country may be killed, and U.S. citizens who are waging war against the United States and organizing terrorist attacks against the United States from a foreign country may be killed...

Drone-based killings of jihadists have been going on steadily since the start of the Obama administration—more than under Bush. Did you ever complain about these killings before? No. The killing of Awlaki (plus the unplanned but welcome killing of his jihadist pal and fellow U.S. citizen Samir Kahn) is simply a part of that campaign which presumably you have welcomed and supported. So, again, what relevance does Awlaki’s U.S. citizenship have to this issue? None. He was an enemy waging war on us and seeking to mass murder us. Our government has not suddenly started “killing U.S. citizens,” which is the way you are painting it; rather the government is continuing doing what it has been doing all along, which is killing jihadists...

How does the rule of law require that we deal with a Yemen-based terrorist who is waging war on us and IS a U.S. citizen, any differently than we deal with a Yemen-based terrorist who is waging war on us and is NOT a U.S. citizen?

There is no actual legal difference. From an emotional standpoint, we care about Americans more, but that hardly applies to Jihadists with American citizenship.

The enemy soldier or terrorist has the same legal status regardless of his passport. Once we are at war with him, we may kill him as we choose on the battlefield. Only if he is captured, do additional legal issues arise.

Before becoming Prime Minister, David Cameron wrote, “If we want to remind ourselves of British values – hospitality, tolerance and generosity to name just three – there are plenty of British Muslims ready to show us what those things really mean.”

And the Muslim Patrol is busy reminding everyone of the traditional Muslim values of hospitality and tolerance in their latest video.

There are the usual cheerful messages of tolerance and hospitality like “Islam is here in London… this is not a Christian country… Christianity can go to hell…Allah Akbar”

Followed by a warning to Prime Minister David Cameron, “anyone who tries to stop us, we will take their alcohol, we will tell the naked women to cover up and implement Islam upon your own necks, David Cameron.”

“It is mainstream Britain which needs to integrate more with the British Asian way of life, not the other way around,” Cameron said.

And that’s all the Muslim Patrol is doing. It’s integrating mainstream Britain with the Muslim way of life.

Klick and Wright estimate that the San Francisco ban results in a 46 percent increase in deaths from foodborne illnesses, or 5.5 more of them each year.

There’s an estimated 61 percent rise in ER visits due to E Coli and the estimated cost of all this is over 100 million dollars.

So now let’s consider what a national plastic bag ban would look like based on the national foodborne illness rates.

The CDC estimates that each year roughly 1 in 6 Americans (or 48 million people) gets sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die of foodborne diseases.

That number will go up to at least 64 million or 1 in 5 Americans. Assuming a 46 percent increase in the national foodborne illness death toll… we end up with 1,380 more people dying under a ban.

It's not Evil. It's Environmentalism. But sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference.

Making a map of targets for a killer to use is a bad thing, except when the organization is leftist and the killer is leftist.

As one of the targets on the Southern Poverty Law Center's map, I am not exactly a fan of this.

The Family Research Council shooter, who pleaded guilty today to a terrorism charge, picked his target off a “hate map” on the website of the ultra-liberal Southern Poverty Law Center which is upset with the conservative group’s opposition to gay rights.

Floyd Lee Corkins II pleaded guilty to three charges including a charge of committing an act of terrorism related to the August 15, 2012 injuring of FRC’s guard. He told the FBI that he wanted to kill anti-gay targets and went to the law center’s website for ideas.

The SPLC and Corkins can always quote Auden. "To-day the deliberate increase in the chances of death, The consious acceptance of guilt in the necessary murder;"

You disrespect the office of the POTUS/Presidency and Commander in Chief. You call him Kenyan, mongroid, halfrican, muslim, and FBHO when in essence you are to address him as simply, President… You question his birth certificate, his educational and professional accomplishments, and his judeo-christian beliefs…  You call his wife a Wookie. Off the record, I love your new bangs, Mrs. Obama.

I shed a tear the night you were initially elected President in 2008. I never thought that day would occur. A black man elected president in the U.S. in my lifetime. I cracked a smiled when you were re-elected in 2012 because I really didn’t think you were going to pull that one off.

Who in there right mind needs a fucking silencer!!! who needs a freaking SBR AR15? No one. No more Virginia Tech, Columbine HS, Wisconsin temple, Aurora theatre, Portland malls, Tucson rally, Newtown Sandy Hook. Whether by executive order or thru a bi-partisan congress an assault weapons ban needs to be re-instituted. Period!!!

Hillary Clinton. You’ll make one hell of a president in 2016. Much like your husband, Bill, you will be one of the greatest.

That's a compelling message from copkiller Chris Dorner, who is a typical enough liberal, and whose violent spree may be covered by the news, but whose politics won't be.

The dirty little secret of the left is that they are the ones who specialize in violent terror. And their media refuses to talk about it.

Wayne LaPierre, President of the NRA, you’re a vile and inhumane piece of shit. You never even showed 30 seconds of empathy for the children, teachers, and families of Sandy Hook.

Liberals. They are swollen with the milk of human kindness. They care about people, right before they shoot them in the head.

The Illegal Alien Amnesty (it’s not amnesty, you pay a fine!) was sold as a comprehensive immigration reform plan. Then we found out that the enforcement part of the plan is going to be watered down further and it’s basically another illegal alien amnesty, just like the one in 1986 and the attempt to repeat that folly in 2006.

Marco Rubio was opposed to both amnesties. In a Senate debate with Charlie Crist, Rubio criticized the Florida governor for backing the 2007 McCain-Kennedy immigration bill.

But the McCain-Kennedy immigration plan is the same as the 2013 Gang of 8 + Obama Comprehensive Immigration Reform. That message comes from none other than John McCain.

So Rubio is now selling what he opposed four years ago and his answer as to whether there’s going to be another amnesty.

"At the end of the day, I think your question is are we going to enforce our laws and deport people in the future when we have been unwilling to do it now, and I think the answer has to be yes or we’re going to wind up back here again in less than 10 years."

Rubio Now Backing Away From “Enforcement First” on Illegal Alien Amnesty

Meanwhile a CIS poll shows that a majority of likely voters oppose amnesty and that more voters feel strongly against it than for it.

The Center for Immigration Studies has its own poll out which suggests that not only do the majority of voters not support amnesty, but the passion is stronger on the anti-amnesty side than on the pro-amnesty side.

Now this is important because after an extended media barrage, the center can shift left on a topic, whether it’s gay marriage, abortion or illegal immigration, but what matters is not that X amount of voters now say that gay illegal aliens should be able to marry their abortions, but how much they care about it.

The media, including sections of the conservative media, has barraged the American public with positive coverage of amnesty. That tends to lead the weak-minded to shift toward amnesty. But the question is how committed are they to it. That questions matters because the weak-minded can be shifted in the other direction once the counter-argument begins.

The proposed regulation would require store owners to label prepared, unpackaged foods found in salad bars and food bars, soups and bakery items. “If you get it wrong, it’s a federal crime, and you could face jail time and thousands of dollars worth of fines.”

The next step will be extend that to bake sales and to people who bring egg salad to church picnics. If your apple pie for the bake sale doesn’t have the proper nutritional information, the food gestapo will slide down the pole, shimmy through the extra narrow door, adjust the little plastic statue of Michelle Obama on their dashboard, turn on the siren that plays a mix of exercise music at ear-splitting volume and be on the way to you within 5 to 6 years.

Deli Owners May Face Jail Time If They Miscount Salad Calories

So Rand Paul delivered his big Heritage foreign policy speech which consisted of

1. Conceding that Islamic terrorism exists and it's a large minority, not a tiny minority, and that it exists even apart from American foreign policy.

The first half of that would be a big admission from any American Senator and the second half is important from the Camp of Paul, which insists that terrorism is blowback. It's probably the most significant thing he has said on foreign policy so far.

2. Dismissing the threat of an Iranian nuke

3. Urging that we do less and take some sort of middle path that isn't rash or reckless

4. Attacking military spending

5. Promoting Reagan as a moderate for being willing to sit down with the USSR.

6. Slobbering all over George F. Kennan and proposing a containment of "Radical Islam" in some  general sense.

7. Claiming falsely that the United States funded Bin Laden

8. Not actually laying out much in the way of a foreign policy.

"I recognize that foreign policy is complicated. It is inherently less black and white to most people than domestic policy. I think there is room for a foreign policy that strikes a balance," Paul said.

This is ironically almost exactly Kerry's reply to Paul's question about providing F16's to the Muslim Brotherhood.

"Not everything, and this is always the complication in dealings with the international sector, not everything lends itself to a simple clarity, black white, this that, every time,” Kerry replied to Paul.

That's the trouble with foreign policy nuance.

It's easy to sound very enlightened by repeating truisms like "it's not all black and white" truisms, but that doesn't define the point at which things do become black and white. And that's the point that truly matters.

From 1968 to 1970, Christopher John Matthews heroically served his nation as a trade development adviser in the Peace Corps where he developed trade or traded advisers or developed trading advice. Or something. There he gained the name Phakama Dube, which is Swazi for Jump Up Zebra

That heroic escapade, which is exactly like being shot down and tortured in Vietnam, eminently qualifies the second whitest and fattest journalist on MSNBC (Ed Schultz still wins this one) to mock McCain as a crazy veteran.

The Socialist Workers Party has devoted an enormous effort to the Curtis case in the three years since his arrest. It has gathered endorsements from more than 8,000 political activists and organizations in and around the world and raised, by its own estimate, $150,000 in living room and union hall fundraisers, and by working the crowds at peace and prochoice rallies across the country.

Past and present Curtis endorsers include Ed Asner, Congressmen John Conyers and Ronald Dellums, Angela Davis, the Rev. Daniel Berrigan, Detroit Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, several chapters of NOW, the national chair of Sinn Fein, and members of Parliament and the African National Congress.

The case against Mark Curtis rests on the accounts of two key witnesses, 15 year-old Demetria Harris and her 11 year-old brother Jason.

Demetria struggled, until “Mark” began punching her in the face and head. Jason, hearing the struggle, came to investigate. Opening the door a moment he saw “Mark” on top of Demetria. Jason went back into the house, armed himself with a kitchen knife, took the phone as far from the porch as he could, and dialed 911.

“This man is raping my sister,” he told police dispatcher Kim Manning. Manning logged the call into her computer at 8:51 PM. She then radioed officers Joseph Gonzales and Richard Glade, parked nearby. The officers arrived two minutes later, pulled up silently. They walked to the front door and knocked.

“Mark” put his hands around Demetria’s throat, “and started choking me, and told me not to say anything.” Gonzales and Glade pushed through the door, and “Mark,” his pants down around his legs, took off into the back of the house. Demetria, nude from the waist down and bleeding from the face, told Gonzales, “He just raped me.”

The assailant was cornered in a back bedroom, where, his pants still down around his legs, Mark Stanton Curtis was handcuffed and read his rights.

Curtis was joined at the celebration by several other speakers. “Tonight, we celebrate Mark’s release because now he can join in the struggle along with a new generation of dangerous young men and women,” said Tom Alter, a leader of the Young Socialists in Chicago and member of the YS national steering committee.

Twenty-three-year-old Mohamed Hussein Al-Qarni, administrator of the “Brotherhood Are Liars” Facebook page, will not be the last of these youth to die. He was shot in the neck and chest on 1 February in a side street near the Ittihadiya Presidential Palace.

On 20 November, 17-year-old Gaber “Jika” Salah, the administrator of the Together Against the Muslim Brothers Facebook page, was shot in the head with a shotgun.

Bloomberg blasted opponents of Brooklyn College’s Boycott Israel event, saying, “If you want to go to a university where the government decides what kind of subjects are fit for discussion, I suggest you apply to a school in North Korea.”

That line might have a little more credibility if Bloomberg’s administration of the city didn’t have a suspicious resemblance to North Korea.

Freedom is subjective. It’s used to defend some ideas, but not others. Drop a Koran in a toilet in a New York City academic institution and you’ll be arrested and charged with a hate crime. Call for the destruction of the Jewish State, with the accompanying murder of millions, and that’s academic free speech. What’s worse, dropping a Koran in a toilet or genocide?

The Manichean worldview of the Greenwalds descends into Great Satan theology in which nothing can be the fault of the terrorists, because everything is already the fault of America. In a single article, Greenwald blames America for

1. Supporting the Mali government

2. Destabilizing the Mali government

3. Arming the Mali rebels

4. Helping bomb the Mali rebels

5. Causing more terrorism by being the cause of everything wrong with the world

There is no room for Al Qaeda to do anything, because in Greenwald’s world, America is already a kind of incompetent evil deity who has already done everything everywhere.

UK Greens have long been waiting for the day that James Lovelock dies so that they can go ahead and canonize him as a plaster saint without having to listen to the things that he has to say.

Lovelock has warned about Global Warming, but he has also advocated against Green Energy and for nuclear power and fracking, arguing that only nuclear power could provide an alternative energy source that would stop Global Warming.

And Lovelock has denounced the Cult of Green. “It just so happens that the green religion is now taking over from the Christian religion. I don’t think people have noticed that, but it’s got all the sort of terms that religions use … The greens use guilt. That just shows how religious greens are. You can’t win people round by saying they are guilty for putting (carbon dioxide) in the air.”

And he has even questioned Global Warming, “The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books – mine included – because it looked clear-cut, but it hasn’t happened. The climate is doing its usual tricks. There’s nothing much really happening yet. We were supposed to be halfway toward a frying world now.”

First, Westergaard’s panic room. It is a bathroom off the front hall of a modest, modern-style home in the small Danish city of Aarhus. The tiny room is equipped with a buzzer that rings through to the local police station, and it has a steel door. While the Somali was breaking through the front door of his home, Westergaard, then 74, who walks with a cane, made his way into the secure room, hoping the police would reach him in time. As he listened to each strike of the ax on his door, the assailant screamed, “Blood! Revenge!”

Blood and revenge for what? Four years earlier, Westergaard had drawn a cartoon of Muhammad. It was one of 12 such cartoons commissioned by his newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, to demonstrate that Denmark’s media do not follow Islamic laws against depicting Muhammad. You haven’t seen Westergaard’s cartoon in American media? That’s because American media do follow this Islamic prohibition – only they call it being “sensitive” or “inclusive” or something. (Google “Westergaard” and “cartoon” to see if the image makes you want to pick up an ax.)

No matter what our media chiefs say, however, there is nothing “sensitive” or “inclusive” about capitulating to what is, in reality, fear of Islamic violence, thus allowing an elderly Danish artist to face this jihad alone.

Women are now being signed as male fashion models.

The past year saw a first in the fashion industry – women signed contracts to model as men for Ford Models and Saint Laurent, according to this report, story below.  What this really means is that gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, trans-sexuals, have been pushed on society to the point that we are now supposed to not only think it is normal and acceptable, but we are to celebrate the androgyny of humanity.

Democratic lawmakers proposed legislation Tuesday that would require California gun owners to buy liability insurance to cover damages or injuries caused by their weapons.

Ting said he and Gomez plan to work with gun owners and opponents to craft a constitutional bill. It will not require insurance companies to offer gun insurance, but will encourage them to enter the market.

He noted that the National Rifle Association itself already offers its members the chance to buy liability insurance, despite its opposition to requiring gun owners to buy such policies.

The first instance took place on the 2nd grade play ground, between a bully and an autistic kid.  My son (who I will call Caleb), told the bully to stop.  The bully did not, Caleb ushered him under a sliding board (outside of the watchful eyes of the teachers) and delivered a big punch to the stomach.  Doubled over in pain, the bully was informed that he'd gotten off lightly, this time...  I gushed with Motherly joy and pride at the story to which my 2nd Grader said, "Yeah, but now the Autistic kid hugs me every time he sees me."

Thus, began the dynamic of Caleb the bully destroyer.  This pattern and behavior continued through Elementary School but due to strict supervision the instances where Caleb was called to step in were limited to 3-4 times a year.  Middle School, from a bullying perspective is a remake of "The Lord of the Flies".

When asked this week why he was coming home with so many stories of fights, he exclaimed, "Mom, they are like zombies!  They just keep coming!  I deal with one and next week there is another to take his place."  He was talking about The Challenger type.  Digging further, he revealed that he regularly steps in against Biff the Bully.  So he deals with both kinds on a daily basis.

I said, "So describe the Challenger, what is this kid like?"  Without missing a beat he said, "Oh, those are the Black kids from the Hood."  I scoffed, "Caleb, you are in one of the nicest public schools in the city, there are no kids from the hood that go to your school! When I went to school, there WERE kids from the Hood but you?  No way."

He shrugged, eleven year old's are not into nuance. "Well, they walk down the hall and act like they are from the hood, so it's most of these guys that are try to fight me." I shake my head in bewilderment, "So what about the other type?"  I ask.  "Oh, those are the big white guys, lots of times football players."

It is a great line, but listen Buddy, GOD did NOT make the Democrats... NO it was the other fellow who made Democrats...

Man's sinful nature is FULLY evident in the Democratic Party Platform, and in all Progressive and/or Democrat politicians (and far too many Republicans too).

Sorry I've been absent recently, been on travel and overloading working to support the Occupy & Politician class...

  2. So God made a democrat - masterful!

  3. God looked down at America and said " I need someone who is willing to put his principals in his back pocket, preferably into the direction of his wallet, and who will be willing to work hard to fool the people into believing that his brand of politicks is somehow different than the opposition.

    So God made Republicans

  4. As much as I agree with all of what you say, I think it is imperative that there be an extended significant debate about killing US citizens.

If a US citizen is, as you mention, fighting for a foreign army against the US, by all means,
kill that person as you would any enemy combatant.

But the law operates on precedent. And I don't want Obama to have blanket authority to kill US citizens without trial. I don't trust him or any other politician in Washington, Democratic or Republican, to handle such authority without abusing it.

Suppose the FBI or CIA discovers a plot in this country to commit terrorist acts on behalf of Islam? Should the government be able to simply kill everyone involved without trial? No, of course not.

But if history tells us anything, it is that when you grant politicians any kind of authority, their natural inclination is to expand, and if that doesn't work, to abuse that authority.

The extreme Left is already issuing death threats to anyone who disagrees with them. This whole debate, is, in my view, healthy in that it will, hopefully, clearly define a razor sharp limit on the government's authority to kill US citizens.

Yes, we will have to put up with the anti-war, antifreedom, anti-common sense, whacko Left dumping nonsense into the discussion. But that's true of any debate about anything of any importance nowdays, because the Left in this country views government as their express ticket to a Socialist 'paradise', a la Carto or Chavez.

We who disagree with them must be scrupulous in
establishing what we believe and why we believe it. I think the current debate helps to do that.

  5. Doug, the precedent is that presidents have the authority to kill battlefield combatants regardless of us citizenship

and they do not have the authority to assassinate us citizens in the united states

    that is the precedent

there is nothing new here and nothing has changed

  6. This explains what's goin on ...

My oh my, the little boys are angry at the world and Democrats. I couldn't read your rant in its entirety, but I suggest you study Stewart, Colbert, Maher and even SNL to improve your wit and accuracy. Also, you should start accepting and understanding why our country is slowly but surely moving in a leftward direction.

Regarding "Middle School Madness"... anybody who leaves their kids in public schools needs to have their heads examined. One word: HOMESCHOOLING. Or if that isn't possible, find a dozen like-minded families, and as a group, hire your own teacher.

"Doug, the precedent is that presidents have the authority to kill battlefield combatants regardless of us citizenship"

The fundamental problem is, when the battlefield is deemed to be the entire planet, and anyone alive is potentially a "battlefield combatant", who gets to define which are "battlefield combatants", and which are not? I trust absolutely no one in our current government to make this decision with any kind of accuracy or fair-mindedness. Just for the record, I didn't trust anyone in the last government either.

On a slightly different note, it is interesting how concerned we are about civilian casualties from drone strikes that may number in the hundreds or thousands, but we seem to have forgotten about the millions of civilians that died in the firebombings of Tokyo or Dresden. Or the millions that died at the hands of Stalin in, say, the Ukraine in the 1930s. Or the millions that died at the hands of the Turks in 1915. Etc. Etc. Etc.

  10. You have correctly captured the Liberal Litany and their Catechism...it's whatever they want it to be, because they want it, and if the same thing is done by someone who opposes their un-"holy"
will, it's clearly a crime. Contradiction of their will is heresy and punishable by death or at the very least, death threats...like Andrea Bocelli who just backed out of singing for Trump. God help the baker who makes a cake for the Trump inauguration.
Anyone who is not liberal/leftist, is by their lights, not just stupid, but palpably evil. The left has failed to notice that they have become, indisputably, the incarnation of evil itself...Abortion as Sacrament, Euthanasia on Demand as Last Rights, they no longer tolerate anything but other destructive, intolerant "faiths" like Islam. Patriotism and the existence of nation-states of like minded citizens are anathema...

...and their new motto, as Orwell so clearly put it, "Hate is Love...War is Peace...Lies are Truth."

    Well Written, Sultan Knish!
