U.S. officials demand IAF cease overflights in Lebanese airspace - Haaretz

Two Bush administration officials, David Welch and Elliott Abrams, demanded that Israel Air Force overflights of Lebanon be halted, saying that such flights undermine the standing of Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.

The talks with Welch and Abrams focused on the standing of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. The U.S. diplomats said that Abbas is "exhibiting weakness," and the main question is whether it is possible to strengthen him - and if so, how.

The American security coordinator in the territories, General Keith Dayton, put forward a plan to bolster Palestinian security forces loyal to Abbas in the Gaza Strip including the delivery of additional arms to Abbas or the entry into Gaza of the Badr Brigade, a Palestine Liberation Organization force currently stationed in Jordan.

What is the Badr Brigade?

"Israel has objected in the past to letting members of the Jordan-based Badr Brigade enter Palestinian areas. Currently, there are several large concentrations of trained fighting forces aligned with the PLO, in various places outside of the Palestinian Authority zones. These men are "in reserve" and are not counted as part of the numbers of "Palestinian Police" that are allowed under the various signed Agreements which Israel has undertaken with the PA since OSLO 1.

One fully-equipped and highly-trained force was in Egyptian Sinai, and it is entirely possible that a great portion of them have now made it across the pourous Gaza border since the IDF withdrew from the Philiadelphi Corridor. These men carry with them a vast array of heavy machine guns, anti-tank weapons, and shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles (SA-7 STRELA).

To the other side of Israel, across the Jordan River, the PLO assembled a substantial armed force which is now under the command of the Jordanian Army.

The battle of Badr was a famous event in Islamic history whereupon Mohammed and his followers defeated a numerically superior force of non-Muslims near Medina. Although Badr is often referenced by many Islamic militant groups, the name Quwat Badr is generally associated with one of three outfits:

At present, the "Badr Forces" in Jordan are essentially a Palestinian brigade in the regular Jordanian Army. They are a core group of Palestinian refugees who served in the Palestinian Liberation Army, the former armed wing of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO)."

In other words thousands of notorious terrorists, now soldiers of the Jordanian Army will now be entering Israel heavily armed and under the control of Fatah.

  1. Israel is hated simply because it is Israel and the world hates God and hates those whom God has put in a position of responsibility..namely Torah here.
Torah shows the falsehood of all other religious books and ways and shows men their evil plainly.
hence we see the banning of quotes from tanakh on homosexuals, and other evil practices, the banning of the ten commandments in public places, etc.
It is no great stretch when the very nation that brought forth Torah to the world is itself always under attack.

If they can do away with Jews, they think, then, they feel they will be free of guilt and law.
Sadly for them, I have read the book and in the end they lose.. they lose it all.

  2. yes and israel seems to be becoming encircled now and enemies emerge from within and without it surround it

  3. For the enemies of Israel, who are the enemies of God also, this is their last hurrah. There will be no more for them soon..forever.

Why are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain?

2 The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed:

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.'

4 He that sitteth in heaven laugheth, the Lord hath them in derision.

5 Then will He speak unto them in His wrath, and affright them in His sore displeasure:

6 Truly it is I that have established My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.'

7 I will tell of the decree: the LORD said unto me: 'Thou art My son, this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of Me, and I will give the nations for thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.'

10 Now therefore, O ye kings, be wise; be admonished, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Do homage in purity, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way, when suddenly His wrath is kindled. Happy are all they that take refuge in Him.

  4. yes it seems like the days might be coming soon

  5. So in case I am reading this right, the US is backing Abbas/Fatah? Since when did Fatah become Israel's protectors?

Hamas, Badr, Fatah...they all have one agenda and it won't take long before all of them unite in their common hatred of Israel.

And the US wants Israel to sit on its hands? Am I reading this correctly?

  6. the US policy has been to back the so-called 'moderate' terrorists against the extremists... repeatedly ignoring the fact that they're all terrorists with the same endgame

and the us has kept arming and backing fatah under arafat and now abbas and the training and weapons have killed americans and israelis

  7. Gotcha.

Baffling and maddening how they omit "terrorist" and simply call them moderates within the Palestinian government.

Fatah just has a better PR machine than Badr it seems.

  8. And the US should get out of Iraq. After all, their presence is upsetting the arabs. How can they make peace if their existence makes the natives upset. But no. We have to stay. If we don't then it looks like they are winning or won and we can't have that. It would undermine our "fight against" terrorism. It would make us look weak.

And because we (the US) wants to dominate the world, we can't have other countries standing up for themselves, and if they do - we'll put a stop to it. We will rule the world. We will tell them what they will and will not do. So is the motto of the US.

It's not Jews who want to rule the world. It's that evil little anti-semitic idiot in the white house. Where is Lee Harvey Oswald when you need him. :] (Lee, of whom I believe was innocent.)

  9. Shabbat Shalom Sultan :) Lemon :) and Yobee :)

Personally, I think Bush has been nipping at the bottle again. I've talked to cops and they think because of some of his facial mannerisms he's on something.

Again I ask...what next? Will the US send troops into Palestine to stabilize the government and bring democracy their? Will they quit asking Israel to appease her enemies and just step into Palestine directly? After they've accomplished that in Iraq, that is.
So many arab nations in need of democracy! Where to begin first?

Bush being on something? Ah ha!!! Now we know what he grows on his ranch! LOL!!!

As for what's next: I can see it now. US troops enter Gaza and begin shooting at the IDF.

On the bright side! It's one hour and eight minutes till Shabbos!!!! I can smell the challah in the oven! mmmm....
