Ahead of Passover, the Jewish Democratic Council of America sent out a mailing headlined, “Pharaoh in the White House”. According to JDCA's head Halie Soifer, Trump was the reincarnation of the ancient tyrant at the heart of the Passover story because he was deporting antisemites. "Legal residents and others are being illegally detained and, in some cases, deported without due process. Much of this is happening in our name, ostensibly to “fight antisemitism,” the former foreign policy advisor to Kamala complained. “Even if we disagree with the content of the speech, freedom should mean the same thing for all people, and due process must be granted. Enough is enough of Donald Trump using the Jewish community as an excuse to deprive people of their rights and deport people ‘for their beliefs.'” The beliefs include forcing Jews off campuses like Columbia and UCLA, assaulting Jewish students and faculty, cheering for the mass murder of Jews on Oct 7 and calling for the destru...

King David’s Hostage Negotiations
At the end of this week, Jews around the world will celebrate the holiday of Purim. The annual commemoration of the divine salvation from extermination has a special resonance this year. Haman, the Purim story’s central villain, the Persian Empire’s grand vizier, descended from the Amalekite peoples, has traditionally served as a stand-in for contemporary villains like Hitler, Stalin (Russian Jews celebrate a Stalin’s Purim marking the Communist tyrant’s death before he could execute his own holocaust in the USSR) as well as Hamas and other Islamic Jihadists. But the events of Purim taking place some 2,300 years ago are also intimately linked to the exodus from Egypt, 3,300 years ago, and the establishment of the first Jewish monarchy several hundred years later under King Saul followed by King David and his dynasty. And the very different styles of the two rulers. After the miraculous exodus from Egypt, Amalek had defied G-d by ambushing and attacking the Jews. In response, G-d had co...

Trump Judges Defend Jewish Students on Campus
“The Court is dismayed by Cooper Union’s suggestion that the Jewish students should have hidden upstairs or left the building,” Judge John Cronan wrote, blasting the Manhattan college’s bid to dismiss a lawsuit by Jewish students who were trapped in the library by a mob of terrorist supporters. “These events took place in 2023—not 1943—and Title VI places responsibility on colleges and universities to protect their Jewish students from harassment, not on those students to hide themselves away in a proverbial attic.” The strong language in the ruling was similar to how Judge Mark Scarsi had criticized UCLA. “In the year 2024, in the United States of America, in the State of California, in the City of Los Angeles, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith,” Judge Scarsi wrote in response to the university’s complicity in Hamas supporters setting up checkpoints and encampments to harass Jews. The two federal judges who spok...

The Holocaust Didn’t Really Change Anything
Philosophers, writers and thinkers insisted that the Holocaust was an inflection point in history, but it’s clearer now than ever before that it did not change history, it only accelerated it. Israel was not, as politicians all too often insist, “born out of the ashes of the Holocaust.” It was born out of the blood, sweat and determination of a relatively small group of Zionists who defied the traditionalists and leftists in their own communities to go and rebuild their own homeland. Liberal Jews have made “If you will it, it is no dream” into an airy cliche when it was actually meant as a hard wake up call to a European Jewry that had spent too long living in dreams. Even after the Holocaust brought an iron end to many of those dreams, they still linger on. Nor did the Holocaust secure political support for Israel. How could it when it did not even secure the ability of European Jews to flee to America or even to their homeland in Israel? The politicians and nations who voted at the ...

Chanukah Over Syria
On this Chanukah, menorahs will be lit not only in the land of Israel, from Jerusalem to Gaza, but in Lebanon and on the heights of Mt. Hermon overlooking Syria. Vacationing families will visit the waterfalls of the Hermon Stream in the Golan Heights from which the Syrian Greek armies had descended thousands of years ago to conquer Israel leading to the events of. Chanukah. The lights of the menorahs over darkness are a reminder that miracles can still happen here. The Syrian Greeks had called the area Paneas after their god Pan and the Arab Muslim conquerors had retained the pagan name as Baneas due to the inability of the so-called ‘Palestinian’ occupiers to pronounce the letter ‘P’. In the original Chanukah, the Maccabees had driven the Syrian Greeks and their enforced paganism out of the land and during the Six Day War their latter day descendants also pushed out the Syrian invaders at great cost. Commanding the heights, the Assad regime had unleashed artillery fire on the village...

Trump Won Jewish Neighborhoods Across America
Trump won the largest Jewish county in the country, the only entirely Jewish town and village, and some of the densest, fastest growing and most Jewish neighborhoods in America. Borough Park, Brooklyn is the densest Jewish neighborhood in the country. Its two square miles contain nearly 100,000 Jewish people in 23,000 households. 83% are married and only 2% are divorced. 96% are members of synagogues. This was where large crowds protested pandemic lockdowns, tearing down playground fences and burning masks. Trump won over 90% of the vote in most Borough Park districts. On 14th Avenue and Rabbi Weissmandl Way, Trump won 96% of the vote in one very Jewish district. In Chicago’s West Rogers Park, a Muslim terrorist shot a Jewish man who was walking to the synagogue on the Sabbath, and then did battle with police while shouting, “Allahu Akbar”. Trump won the more Orthodox areas of West Rogers Park, which Chicago Magazine described as, “a world of synagogues, kosher bakeries, and Hebrew boo...

Schumer’s Jewish Support Crashed After Attacking Israel
The revelation that Senator Chuck Schumer helped Columbia University cover up antisemitism further diminishes his already sinking status among Jews. The House Committee on Education and the Workforce report on campus antisemitism showed that Sen. Schmuer had told Columbia President Minouche Shafik that “universities political problems are really only among Republicans” and his staff recommended the “best strategy is to keep heads down”. For years, Sen. Schumer had claimed to be a 'shomer' or 'guardian' of the Jewish community. The report reveals that he was a shomer for antisemites. Two years ago, Sen. Schumer enjoyed an 82% approval among New York Jews. In contrast to the 40% unfavorable rating among New Yorkers, only 18% of Jews disapproved. Now he’s tied as 45% of New York Jews have come to hate Chuck. What happened in the last two years to send his approval rating crashing from 82% to 48%? This spring, Schumer agreed to become the public face of the Biden administr...

Fear and Brisket for Jews at the DNC
“As the highest-ranking Jewish official in American history, I want my grandkids and all grandkids to never, never face discrimination because of who they are,” Senator Schumer concluded his speech. “But Donald Trump. This is a guy who peddles antisemitic stereotypes.” Meanwhile Jewish Democrats were literally hiding out at the DNC. Most Jewish events at the DNC were held at undisclosed locations with organizers having to approve attendees and only then provide them with the secret location shortly beforehand. Agudath Israel, a traditional religious and not particularly Zionist group, whose members wear black suits and hats, held an open event to discuss the antisemitism faced by Orthodox Jews, only to have masked activists show up and scream that they were going to destroy Israel. No one at the DNC condemned those responsible or held them accountable for their actions. Imagine the reaction if black or Asian attendees were systemically harassed in this way. “After 50 years fighting an...

Every ‘Rabbi’ From ‘Jewish Americans for Kamala Harris’ Belongs to Anti-Israel Groups.
Democrats have tried to reassure Jewish voters that they have nothing to worry about despite Kamala’s harsh criticism of Israel’s war on Hamas. (Pictured: Sharon Brous with Linda Sarsour) To counter those concerns, the Jewish Democratic Council of America, headed by Haile Sofer, Kamala’s old policy adviser, rolled out a ‘Jewish Americans for Kamala Harris’ online rally. But while the Zoom rally flier may feature a photo of Kamala and her husband, Doug Emhoff, awkwardly lighting a menorah, the leading figures in the rally only raise more questions. The two most prominent non-elected officials taking part in the rally are Randi Weingarten, the head of the American Federation of Teachers union, and her girlfriend, Sharon Kleinbaum. While Weingarten is best known for her work in keeping school closed leading to as much as a grade point of loss in education, she is militantly anti-Israel and has used antisemitic rhetoric. In response to a question from the JTA, a liberal Jewish media outlet...
