"Death to America" is "protected" speech in the public square but espousing that philosophy in the US Congress is a call to arms and should have no place. Ordinary Americans like myself cannot fathom why a communist should be welcomed into the US legislature.

Gail's avatar

The answer is that they shouldn't. None of this makes sense. The fact that there is actually a Communist Party in the U.S. is anathema. The fact that James Comey and John Brennan were with the Communist Party and were the FBI and CIA Chiefs is inexplicable. That both were appointed to Law Enforcement/Intel by George W Bush is more bizarre still.

That Socialists/Communists are able to run as Democrats is outrageous. That Communo/Islamo/Nazis are able to hold office is sickening. That non-native born people who despise America are taking over the entire fucking country is insanity. National Suicide by ballot.

Jane Stuart's avatar

Sadly, I feel you are correct.

Gail's avatar

I so wish otherwise.

Debbie Wagner's avatar

As they say….. you can vote yourself into communism but you (actually, your grandchildren) will have to shoot your (their) way out.

We can stop this now by applying the common sense requirement that office holders must be native born and not communist or socialist. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

You had me until comey and Brennan at which point this sounds like a severe lack of thorazine

I guess the haloperodol, alprazolam, lorazepam, diazepam, Ritalin,Adderol, phenobarbital, aripiprozole, olanzipine, lithium, bupropion, Zyprexa, Risperdal, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, yogi, swami, priest, pastor, minister, rabbi, horse whisperer, hypnotherapist, physical therapist, hospitalization, institutionalization, electroshock therapy, waterboarding, sensory deprivation aren’t cutting it.

Maybe I should convert to Islam, register with the Communist party and run for high office as a Red/Green. With Brennan as top campaign advisor and Comey as legal council!

Kidding aside, Brennan did ,in fact

vote for Gus Hall.

I’ll get back to you later with the rest

If it's death to America they. desire , oblige them first

There must be some minimum intellectual , basic competence and patriotism standards required to take public office in the west. Otherwise, the

Actually she said “I forgot to buy toilet paper so I wiped my butt on the American flag!”

Jeremy Stewardson's avatar

Keep DSA activists in Sudan or Somalia - all of them .

Gail's avatar

That's a great idea. Make it retroactive. That would purge 70% of the body politic.

John Cunningham's avatar

No standards exist. Trump and his cabinet are proof.

BigWobbles's avatar

Interesting: name a single democrat as articulate in defense of American principles as Marco Rubio

TDS is an imaginary word created by conservatives in order to have something to say after they can’t continue discussion (lost). It’s basically a form of deflection—changing the subject to the person instead of the issue which they lost. In debate, attacking the person instead of the argument is called ad hominem.

Jeremy Stewardson's avatar

It is three words , not one . So , wrong on all counts .

BigWobbles's avatar

There is now help for TDS. Ask your provider for information.

Judging from average apparent UQs, I’d say not.

A loyalty test? Not with free speech front and center as it should be! Better citizenship/birthright requirement with parents having the same with residency in US for 20yrs or a period of time in the US that seems reasonable with the perception that an individual has lifetime experience with American culture. Better yet, we should better teach the real American history of Hamilton, Logan, Franklin and later Clay and McKinley as Trump has spoken of them in grade school on up. I never was taught their views. Never even knew these views existed.

David S.'s avatar

There already is a loyalty test. It's the oath of office taken by every elective official.

arrotsevni's avatar

Correct! No one honors it if they are come from a deceptive culture.

DarkSkyBest's avatar

These people have already campaigned on taking down the government. Their sponsor declared as much in NYC Saturday sitting behind/in front of the desk of the Father of This Country.*When they swear to uphold our Constitution, it will be an effing lie. These people are beneath contempt.

*Meanwhile, mock the prophet in any way and you get killed. See, Charlie Hebdo.

arrotsevni's avatar

Vicious people. A loyalty osth is easily ignored by deceitful people/culture. It id their duty to deceive.

Someone who is fundamentally against a country should not be allowed to participate in the government of that country.

You’re not going to keep them out of office. They are specifically picking solid blue districts where a rodent with a D next to their name will Win.

Then comes in all the dark money from Soros and overseas combined with an electorate of brain dead white leftists and ghetto rats that think they’re going to get reparations . And no sane candidate has a chance.

It’s been part of the announced plan for years but the Dem establishment doesn’t give a rats ass about the country as long as they have power .

Eventually they’ll get the civil war they want and have already declared on the rest of us as we sit here and watch this and do nothing

What's being lost in all of this is that these DSA members recently elected are being elected because as few as 7% of the people eligible to vote actually showed up at the polls! A Republic is NOT a spectator form of government. It relies on a populace educated on the issues and willing to show up to vote, not rely on the radical socialists being the only people at casting a vote. CONTROL @ THE POLLS!

Larry935613's avatar

What we know about NYC election is that the morons in the wealthier neighborhoods voted for the scumbags.

The non poor did not show up.

There is no educated electorate in this country any more. The majority are too dumbed down from Tik Tok.

That leaves the far left filth an easy path to these seats

Cary M. Silverman's avatar

Part of me wants it. Every DSA candidate, gone. Barred, excluded, kept off the floor of Congress. People who tweet “Death to America” and praise Stalin should not get a vote on how this country runs.

But I live in America, not Iran. Not Russia. Freedom of speech means the ugly speech stays protected too. That is the whole design, not a flaw in it.

Greenfield wants Congress to use the 14th Amendment to keep them out. He admits the clause does not fit. His fix is to seat them first, then find a reason after. That is not law. That is a wish wearing a legal costume.

Build that tool and it does not stay pointed one direction. A Republican Congress excludes DSA today. A Democratic Congress excludes MAGA Republicans tomorrow, citing January 6th, using the same words. Every majority gets its own list of enemies. Every side finds its own definition of insurrection.

I would love to knock some sense into this generation. Tell them what Stalin actually did. Tell them what “Death to America” actually means to the people who die by it. But that is a fight for classrooms, for arguments, for the ballot box. Not for a clause built to exclude traitors, stretched to exclude opinions I hate.

Salusa Secundus Snape's avatar

Hmmm. I wonder if the Democrats will vote to deny themselves a majority to appease fascists?

George Adam's avatar

DSA is a symptom of a decaying political culture, just as MAGA is. They validate and nurture each other’s histrionics to everyone’s cost.

GG's avatar

No Fascism, no Communism, no bigotry. Let the remaining ten percent of us decide how to govern. Thank you and God bless you all.

MarlaSinger's avatar

If you fundamentally disagree with every part of the social contract, you cannot be given power over it. Same goes for Islam.

FuriousGreg's avatar

McCarthy was right, who’d thunk?!

Justin Smith's avatar

America should pass new legislation similar to the McCarran Act of 1950 with strong provisions in place to ban all communists and Muslims from serving in Congress or any government office. This was done in part in 1950, but it was repealed in 1993 -- erroneously so as we are now finding out much to our chagrin!

Thank You for THIS fine article, Daniel. Maybe we can all join together to see these anti-American rat bastards are turned away from the levers of power.

Keep Fighting the Good Fight! I'm with You, Brother!!!

Nadin Brzezinski's avatar

Is your last name McCarthy? No serious. If we can have MAGA in higher office, we can have these people in office.

Michael Woods's avatar

That’s easy. Their platform is the destruction of the Constitution. It can’t get any more unconstitutional than that.

Dan's avatar

It's a no-brainer; you're either supportive of the United States of America, or you're not.

One sits, the other doesn't.

The End.
