It is one of the major tragedies of our time that such a beautiful, blessed , gifted country cannot arrange its affairs so as to live satisfactorily in a democratic , true capitalist , organised fashion . The inefficient majority cannot let the efficient minority arrange things for the benefit of all . So this wonderful country slowly sinks into the broken down corrupt abyss of the rest of the continent , to the loss of everybody . A tragedy .
What a helpful post, hopefully more people will read. South Africa provides clear contrast of before during and after colonization, and how a people were handed a functioning government and first-world nation only turn it into another violent basket case in a continent of basket cases
What an important, special, brilliant (as usual), news-worthy essay. May I assume you email your commentaries to every single member of the House and Senate? Why are you not in syndication with JNS and JTA?
I had the opportunity of visiting the RSA on business, twice a year and over a decade. It is an unfortunate case of greed overtaking the interests of the people, which drove the political class to join their peers from North of the Limpopo. Central Jo’burg saw the most horrific degradation into chaos, crime and all the ills of a mishandled state, the young professionals leaving in droves to seek better opportunities and safety for their families. The influx of foreigners from the north was from the beginning a sore point with SA blacks, which they believed brought all sorts of social ills which the previous state of affairs did not allow. They are moving rapidly off to square one!
Jan van Riebeeck (born April 21, 1619, Culemborg, Netherlands—died January 18, 1677, Batavia, Dutch East Indies [now Jakarta, Indonesia]) was a Dutch colonial administrator who founded (1652) Cape Town and thus opened Southern Africa for white settlement.

Good article but the ANC and Malema' EFF and the MK are all bleeding support because of their adherence to pan Africanism and mass immigration.
I may need to buy some more platinum!
Much has been written on the collapse of Rhodesia. RSA is following suit.

The Dutch arrived in South Africa long before the Zulus. The descendants of the Dutch administrators are the modern day Afrikaaners.
Might as well rename it Wakanda. Just as fanciful!
