Gosh, and here I was thinking this was a clickbait title, but when you put all that historical context in there, I realize, you're right! But killing CBS for the wrong reasons! If only there were a shred of journalistic integrity to be found in any mainstream media outlet! I say BRAVO to Bari Weiss! I think the mainstream media is not only angry at the betrayal, they're upset about the journalistic knife in the back which they so richly deserve. Wasn't there a REASON why Bari was brought in? Oh... declining viewership BECAUSE of journalistic lies and loss of trust?
I *DID* have to laugh at the the passing glance at "What's the frequency, Ken?" when you said, "These days, the media tunes in on Dan Rather’s frequency every now and then to lecture about how Bari Weiss is letting down the proud CBS News tradition of making up lies about Republicans to help elect Democrats. And Weiss insists on actually fact checking the lies."
If the media has only lies to rely on for business, then they don't stand for anything.
And they deserve to die. At least SOMEONE had cajones to try to get back to SOME semblance of journalistic integrity. Alas! A novel idea!
Disclaimer: I haven't watched mainstream media in nearly a decade. The news clips I see in a youtube review/blurb, or what I see if I happen to be at an airport, eating establishment, or before my inlaws died with Fox News on all the time, etc. just reinforces the correct decision to ditch the mainstream news. I had to laugh at the clip I saw of Newt Gingrich being shut down twice in one interview when he took a disparaging swipe at George Soros. He looked like he'd swallowed a bug. And Fox News' 2020 election coverage calling Arizona for Biden minutes after the close of elections... The fix was in. It was just maddening to see my inlaws swear Fox news was the truth. Gah.
