I dreamed of returning one day, but am heartbroken over what’s been happening there with the invasion and tyranny (read “Covid”), which might appear unrelated but aren’t.
In the US we’ve had two Trump terms in a thankfully not parliamentary system, and still face insane resistance to the populism the normal people have been begging for for decades.
Media, Democrats, the old GOP, corporations, NGOs, Hollywood, professional sports, academia, the bureaucracy, the courts:
“If you don’t want barbarian invasions, barbarians being settled in your neighborhood, offshoring, free trade, corporate welfare, foreign welfare, lazy people welfare, higher energy prices, more crime, sharia law, Latin American organized crime, millions of foreign students taking up all the university slots, high taxes, open borders, more income inequality, mass fraud, mass fraud by foreigners, men in women’s restrooms, locker rooms, and sports, Chinese spies in every university and corporation, an end to 1A and 2A, race hierarchy, nationwide riots, woke everything, weaponized courts, and so on”

And they have proven they have no limits to what they will do to defend the establishment.
In a parliamentary system they can screw you so much more easily because the legislature is the executive.
