Hamas and Fatah Finally Achieve an Enduring Truce

Gladness and cheering resounded throughout Ramallah on news that the ruling Hamas terrorist group and the ruling Fatah terrorist group had finally managed to reach an agreement that would result in a permanent and unbreakable truce. While former truces, included one tattooed on three camels, one signed at Mecca on fragments of the Kabaa and one printed on a Koran had utterly failed to hold, this truce is unlikely to be broken.

"We drew on our experiences with Israel to create a true and lasting truce," said Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, "whenever we signed a truce with Israel, we simply redefined the word 'truce' to mean killing people. Applying that negotiating experience to our current problem, I can now say that we have achieved a full and complete truce with Hamas and we do not foresee that this truce will end until they are defeated and annihilated."

For their part Hamas terrorists had already reinforced the true with three bombings and a drive by shooting of the former Minister of Security's Mercedes limousine.

Media correspondents were predictably thrilled by this truce glowingly reporting of the tremendous effort of peacemaking energy that had gone into achieving it. Reports of violence were noted sadly at the end of articles with commentaries suggesting these were aberrations, once again demonstrating the media's inability to grasp the subtleties of the local culture.

"Stupid CNN," said Ahmed Dahrad, a Fatah gunman who was engaged in firing on a Hamas office, "violence is truce. We engaging in truce now. Yesterday we have even bigger truce. Kill five Hamas men, eight children. Big big truce."

For their part the Israeli government has expressed its pleasure that the Palestinians were finally able to achieve the same political and diplomatic state with each other, that they had with Israel previously.

"We look forward to major progress in the Palestinian truce," said IDF spokeman, Elon Kaduri, "we will also be resupplying both sides with whatever equipment they require for the truce to be properly conducted, without interruption."

Delighted by the new truce Jimmy Carter has reported he will be flying to the region. He is not expected to return.

IS HAMAS A TERRORIST OGRANIZATION OR A RESISTANCE MOVEMENT???

    http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ricehamas/

    She must apologize!

The State department officially lists Hamas as a terrorist organization, which is exactly what it is and has always been.
Last week, US Secretary of State, Dr. Condoleeza Rice, while speaking at a European press conference, referred to terrorist Hamas as a "Resistance Movement." Those are the same words used by Al-Jazeera for Hamas. A "Resistance Movement" is very far from a Terrorist Organization.

Congo-lisa Rice has a problem with thinking processes.
    This is the result.
I believe she should live with her Hamas lovers.

ZOA Calls For Retraction & Apology After Sec'y Rice Calls Hamas "A Resistance Movement"

    February 01, 2007
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    Contact: Morton A. Klein, 212-481-1500
New York — The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has asked the Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, for a retraction and apology to the victims of Hamas terrorism for describing the Islamist terrorist group, Hamas, as a “resistance movement” when speaking to reporters in Europe (State Department, January 18, 2007). Hamas’ Charter calls for the destruction of Israel (Article 15) and the murder of Jews (Article 7) and quotes the anti-Semitic forgery, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, as justification for its war on Jews (Article 32). It is listed on the State Department list of terrorist organizations. Since the start of the Palestinian Arab terrorist wave in September 2000, Hamas has murdered nearly 500 Israelis and maimed thousands more in scores of suicide bombings and hundreds of other terrorist attacks targeting civilians. Since winning Palestinian legislative elections in January 2006, Hamas has explicitly refused to recognize Israel, accept its legitimacy as a Jewish state, or foreswear and denounce terrorism.

Unfortunately, this sort of inappropriate positive spin on troubling aspects of Palestinian Arab society does not seem to be an aberration, but in fact is pattern for Secretary Rice. In a speech she made last October, Rice drew an analogy of Palestinian actions and dreams to the American struggle for independence, which implied an odious comparison of Yasser Arafat and Hamas leaders to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, thereby legitimizing the Palestinian promotion of Israel’s destruction and their hatred and murder of Jews. She also echoed Palestinian propaganda statements, criticizing Israel for the “daily humiliation of occupation,” thereby ignoring that Judea, Samaria and Gaza are not occupied territory, but disputed territory, and that Israel has given away half of Judea and Samaria and all of Gaza, where 98% of Palestinian Arabs live. She also claimed that “there could be no greater legacy for America than to establish a Palestinian state” (State Department, October 11, 2006).

On previous occasions, Rice has demanded that Israel accept the 2003 Roadmap peace plan with no changes and pressured Israel to give up control of security routes on the Gaza-Egypt border, ease control at checkpoints, transfer weapons to Palestinian security personnel and release terrorist Marwan Barghouti from jail. She also pressured Israel into the disastrous decision to relinquish security control of the Philadelphi Corridor along the Gaza-Egypt border, thus allowing Palestinian Arab terrorists to smuggle into Gaza huge amounts of weaponry.

Is Secretary Rice’s claim that Hamas is a “resistance movement” part of a larger pattern of sanitizing the Palestinian Arabs, their goals and conduct, and thus part of an attempt to force Israel into a path of further, disastrous concessions to the terrorist-supporting Palestinian Authority (PA)? This pressure has been exercised despite the clear PA failure to fulfill its commitments under the signed Oslo agreements and the 2003 Roadmap peace plan to jail arrest and extradite terrorists, confiscate their weaponry and close the bomb factories, as well as to end the incitement to hatred and murder in the PA-controlled media, mosques, schools and youth camps that feed terrorism.

ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said, “We respectfully request that Secretary Rice both clarify and apologize to the victims of Hamas terror, which includes 27 Americans killed and 39 wounded and nearly 500 Israelis killed plus the many thousands more maimed in scores of suicide bombings and hundreds of other acts of Hamas terrorism. Hamas is one of the most murderous terrorist groups in the world and can by no stretch of the imagination be described as a ‘resistance organization.’”

Another glaring example of why Bush is a abject failure. I can't even say what I think of C. Rice. #@^X*!

With all their other crimes aside, the Palestinians/Arafat murdered US ambassador Cleo Noel, and untold numbers of Americans. They blew up a diplomatic convoy who had come to interview Palestinian candidates for a Fulbright scholarship. Three Americans murdered! What was ever done about it? Not a damn thing.

Political correctness has crippled the West. I'm ashamed of our pitiful neutered reaction to what should cause an outrage - who we deem worthy to negotiate with.

They should be wiped out but.. and don't call me extreme, either. They, Islamofacists respect power, not fawning, impotent multiculturists. What would Bashar Assad do. What did the Mahdi army(Shiaa) do to Palestinians(Sunni) in Iraq? They sent them packing or face their wrath. Are we all out of wrath?

America, by fostering negotiations, working with the Saudis, Russia, EU, by pushing Israel to commit suicide - is going to pay a heavy price. We are going to pay.

    Those who bless ...

  7. I can't believe people like Carter and the myriad others (high profile and unknowns alike) really think the Palestinians appreciate their support. They're being used. High-profile supporters like Carter and the Hollywood elite using the Palestinians to stroke their egos. Not satisfied with being famous and filthy rich they want to be even more famous and filthy rich financially and morally.

It's all about ego and publicity but ultimately I think, vanity.

    Ego. Ego. Ego.

    keliata says:

"It's all about ego and publicity but ultimately I think, vanity."

You're right. It's all about vanity arrogance, and patronizing elitism.

Every smug political leader - you name them, feels they have the "special something" that will convince the savages to put down their arms and become just like us. It reminds me of the myriad of formula movies: The naive good-intentioned White teacher gets transferred into the inner city where the hardcore ghetto students (who are all really crying out for discipline and love) terrorize the teacher. In the end she/he tames the savage beasts and they become a symphony orchestra, fabulous dancers, winning basketball team - you fill in the bank. Our leaders have been convinced they can do it, they can bring peace to the mideast if they just say the right, magical words in their own charismatic way. With understanding, compassion and the right amount of money, Palestinians will lay down their arms, embrace peace, thank the West profusely and go on to produce doctors, real Nobel Peace prize winners instead of suicide bombers and engineers.

Those of us who live in the real world instead of a theoretical utopia know this will never happen. Most of the trembling West is suffering from this mind altering, self defense eroding delusion. It is PC cowardice writ large. It's an epidemic and it's 1939 all over again.
