Normally it should be in the mid 30's. I have a lot of fruit trees and instead of hibernating for the winter they are starting to bud.

My wild rose bushes are flowering!!! Since I care for a lot of cats, every dry warm day is heaven sent for them. They really suffer the winter months.

The last two weeks were were non stop rain and cold, for us at least.

If this weather is a result of man man made global warming, I'm all for it.

Keli the fruit that require cold are most apples and pears. This cold weather pattern continues, with snow having fallen in all forty eight contiguous states, including Louisiana and Florida. We are considered by traditional climatologists and geologists to be in living in an interglacial period, meaning that our era is but a relatively warm interlude between the previous ice age, which ended about fifteen thousand years ago, and the one which is to come. Back in the sixties, a series of cold winters sparked fears that a new ice age was imminent, but world temperatures moderated somewhat thereafter and the pessimistic prognostications of many nervous scientists were rapidly forgotten. However, the inconvenient truth is that I remember. Climate change does occur and always has, but so what? The extent to which climate change is anthropogenic is unknown, but it is likely that other factors (such as fluctuating heat emanating from the sun, as well as plate tectonics) contribute far more significantly than human activity.
A thousand years ago, there were self-sustaining Viking settlements in Greenland, parts of which were forested. Today, no trees can grow in Greenland, and the Viking colonies had to be abandoned after several hundred years due to increasing cold. How many automobiles, how many factories were there a millenium ago, whose emissions may have caused far northern regions to be far warmer than they are today?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
