There is no hard determinism in the Catholic tradition. In the Catholic tradition (and I think there must be a Judaic parallel), God is out-of-time; that is, to God, the past, present and the future are like "the blink of an eye". So free-will exists within the plan that God has predestined. Predestination does not preclude permutations, nor does predestination mean inevitability. If that were the case, there would be no prayer and there would be no relationship with God. God always answers our prayers; sometimes he says yes and sometimes he says no, but that is always within God's ultimate plan. In other words, to us humans, everything is inevitable, but only AFTER it happens. Something to help understand this is that, even if life is predetermined, but we don't know the plan, then we have free-will. We can choose WITHIN God's plan. It is a collaborative effort to combine my free-will to God's will. Another truth that comes from this perspective is that God's will shall be done (good will triumph over evil), but when we individuals commit evil, we are standing in the way of God's plan. However, when we exercise free will to do good, we are aiding in God's plan.

And may God bless you, Daniel. You are truly doing God's work. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." What a sad commentary on the educational system of our society that all this has to be presented.

None of this insanity should be happening. All these young people are so stunningly ignorant it boggles the mind, but worse, they're arrogant in their ignorance. I fear the chasm between factions is now so large I can only see conflict that will tear the nation apart, and if that happens, this one incontestable fact remains. If there's no America, there's nowhere to go.

There's a second incontestable fact of leftism. If these foolish people, who are in fact nothing but the historical equivalent of Nazi Brown Shirts, actually take control they will be among the first the tyrants who take charge get rid of.
Rich Kozlovichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13745960671409518147noreply@blogger.com
