The he...thank you to everyone for their comments.

The header is slightly higher than the old one, but the icons all existed previously. The only change is that the Twitter and Facebook icons were replaced by less intrusive versions. I will probably scale back the number, but they aren't new.

As far as Java goes, the only new additions are a Recent Comments JS based function, the AddThis sharing bar replacing the Feedburner, this may be causing hiccups for some, and an Amazon panel.

LGstarr, the font is larger and the text area narrower so more scrolling is involved and that may be tiring.

Dr. H, yes I miss the turban a bit, but it's now confined to the About Me page. Hate to let an avatar go, but it seems to confuse and infuriate some people who decide it really is me.

David, Hollywood as the official propaganda corps has to be able to do its hagios.Daniel Greenfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13575285186581875356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-77133248849013335492012-08-18T16:54:09.574-04:002012-08-18T16:54:09.574-04:00sorry, thurs. 8-16

“CAN YOU FEEL THE HA...How appropriate that you ask;
“CAN YOU FEEL THE HATE?”
Feel it? It’s permeated every cell of our society and it’s toxic. It’s beyond civil politics – taking on a social blight; it’s beyond statecraft unless one is blind to the difference between blue-laws, party-lines and mind control.
What is more threatening; “Islamophobia” (the joined terms for victim-hood) or Islamophilia? The latter being the neutralizing of opinion and altering of experienced, documented history. It seems to be even more predatory than any affliction; neutralizing the nervous system, stifling organs and handicapping the function of limbs.
And dare the uniformed of our country express distress: Should we now recall every “Purple Heart” and replace them with documents citing “workplace violence”. (Then, are they industrial accidents as well? It will take generations of lawyers to retro-sue. Or, is that a goal of the Bar Association? {Here, in Boston, based upon scarcity, lab-rats bill at higher hourly rate than attorneys.})
And, regarding the uniformed type: We are now at a stage where Hollywood has been granted a higher priority “need to know” about an operation than the kids we watched growing up; from Eagle Scouts to debutantes, who have trained for them.
And there’s the OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference): Made up of heads of states, or their cabinet level foreign ministers that are Muslim ruled. The US President has thereupon designated a “Special Envoy” (Probably shares the same need to know priority as Hollywood).
David Barry O'Connorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08331007985962351381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-47322266296816044562012-08-18T12:51:43.478-04:002012-08-18T12:51:43.478-04:00Just a nit: "sports as war by other means...&...Just a nit: "sports as war by other means..." And, OK, I will admit to missing the blue turban avatar. It was the first thing I noticed when I first "stumbled" onto your blog from another site that I cannot even recall today. It's just not what we're "used to", but I think it's good to have all the "about you" links in one place rather than having to scroll all over the place looking for your twitter, etc. (as an aside, I had no problems loading the page--and also run noscript.)

[quote]I've seen these types of people locally.
