It's not "Leave Me Alone&quo...I disagree. It's not "Leave Me Alone" vs "Make it Better". It's "Leave Me Alone," vs "Take Care of Me." Anyone who does NOT want the government to "take care" of him/her is automatically a "Leave Me Alone" type. Admittedly, there are some of the wealthy who ascribe to the idiotic idea that the function of government is to "make everyone's life better." It's NOT however. The principle functions of government are to protect our shores, insure that no one's Constitutional rights are violated, "regulate" interstate commerce (in the sense the founders meant the term...to "make regular" or even) Other than that, their intent was for government to leave us the heck alone.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-22482712388316947432011-06-30T11:51:18.974-04:002011-06-30T11:51:18.974-04:00Nice analysis, you've got it - it's all ab...Nice analysis, you've got it - it's all about whether we can handle this slippery thing called 'freedom'. The right of politics finds itself currently despised because it could not make good on its promise to leave us alone - when freedom becomes a license for corporate and individual greed, exploitation and corruption it is worthless. The left is equally bankrupt, as its 'make it better' lacks any coherent moral authority.

Democracy, this strange and historically rare experiment in self-government,
simply cannot work if the populace as a whole does not have an inner moral
gyroscope, if individuals do not have an inner sense of right and wrong, and a willingness
to do what is right. Freedom has nothing to do with being free to do
anything you wish, but that it has all to do with being free to live responsibly, to make
responsible choices.
All systems are doomed without this perspective, and only a shared moral code with divine authority can provide it. This is the soft underbelly of the multicultural beast, which needs to be exposed before it gets us all killed.Broadwoodnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-44426218872126143162011-06-30T09:01:20.862-04:002011-06-30T09:01:20.862-04:00 “Political tags - such as royalist, communis... “Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria.
