She said, "As long as a single Jew exists - just one - the world is forced to admit there is a G-d. And it doesn't want to do that. It would mean that man is accountable to something higher than himself and that's something he rebels against."

So what about religions and people being willing to die for their god? No prob! Their god is made in their image. It's not so tough to want to be under a god you can control or have made up, however you want to look at it. But Hashem laid down unchangeable laws and man knows he can't control him. Therefore, kill the Jews and G-d ceases to exist. At least that's how it would seem to them.

Anyway, I've always found her view interesting. You can't see a Jew without thinking of G-d. If you want to get rid of G-d, you eliminate the Jews. B"H neither of us will or can ever vanish! :]Yobeeonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13067866336964665242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-1153194024516669972006-07-17T23:40:00.000-04:002006-07-17T23:40:00.000-04:00that was the original idea but remember tribalisti...that was the original idea but remember tribalistic groups quickly fall into fighting with each other because they distrust each other and have older grudges against each other than against america or israel

a neighbor is always a bigger enemy

only tyrants can cobble together these societies into a semblance of a nationDaniel Greenfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13575285186581875356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-1153193565957086372006-07-17T23:32:00.000-04:002006-07-17T23:32:00.000-04:00Newt Gingrich's televised comments are spot-on:It'...Newt Gingrich's televised comments are spot-on:
It's a 58-year war for Israel's survival... If they are busy fighting each other, they can't maintain hold on other actions - such as attacking Israel. The question is: will it ever get that far?Irina Tsukermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10964771563778702009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-1153184236668392842006-07-17T20:57:00.000-04:002006-07-17T20:57:00.000-04:00I agree, that was very well stated Lemon. You hit ...I agree, that was very well stated Lemon. You hit the nail on the head.

At some point you begin to wonder if there is more to all the violence than personal choice on the part of the individual terrorists and the governments that support their atrocious actions. Arabs are bent on destroying Israel and Jews. The Germans devoted themselves to destroying Jews and nearly succeeded.

The Christian Crusaders before them--same thing. Haman, the Egyptians. Different religions, different races of people. Different motives, none of which make any sense. Why?

While I would never negate the personal accountability of the people perpetrating these crime, there almost seems to be a spiritual (evil) element involved. Something beyond race, region and religion.

A perpetual battle of good versus evil. An ancient battle. I mean, this blood thirsty quest to destroy Jews and now Israel just doesn't make sense at all. Much of the middle east is a wasteland where people live in abject poverty. Israelis could bring so much benefit and light to the area and improve their quality of life yet the Arabs want to destroy them inspite of themselves.

It really makes no sense, and nevertheless we witness the hatred everyday. I really do believe these people in groups like Hezbollah and Hamas are filled with a spirit of pure evil. Sure, there are psychological and political reasons but what underlies all of it?

There has to be much more to it, and I think these people are truly evil.

But Lemon is right. Hashem will finally put an end to this and mete out justice.Keli Atahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05089132216830000713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-1153172862849147782006-07-17T17:47:00.000-04:002006-07-17T17:47:00.000-04:00hmmm...the skeptic in me asks if they are capable ...hmmm...the skeptic in me asks if they are capable of learning anything.

On the other hand, when Hashem saw them as nothing more than thieves and jackasses...I'm inclined to say "no, they're not."Yobeeonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13067866336964665242noreply@blogger.com
