AOC, Omar, and Squad Want to Free 500,000 Fat Criminals

By On December 15, 2020
Obese rapists, insane serial killers, and child molesters over 55 years old could be on the loose in your neighbrohood if the Squad’s latest social justice bill becomes law.

The bill to free all the fat criminals, sponsored by Rep. Tlaib, Rep. Lee, and Rep. Pressley, and co-sponsored by Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Omar, and eight other Democrats, and endorsed by Black Lives Matter, calls for a mass jailbreak to protect criminals from the coronavirus.

The existing wave of coronavirus criminal releases already helped boost crime rates in major cities with double digit increases in homicides. Robberies have shot up like a rocket with criminals stealing cars and looting businesses while knowing they won’t be jailed.

But that’s not enough for the Squad. They want to free all the criminals. Especially the fat ones.

The Dismantle Mass Incarceration for Public Health Act, introduced by Rep Tlaib, would “require States and units of local government to certify a commitment to release certain individuals from jails and prisons” and their list includes anyone who’s over 55 years old, unhealthy, or obese.

Or as the bill puts it, has been “diagnosed with obesity”.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, anyone with a body mass index (BMI) of 30.0 qualifies as obese. That means a 5'6 rapist who weighs 187 pounds, a 5'8 mugger who clocks in at 200 pounds, or one of those fabled 6'0 and 225 pound gentle giants specializing in home invasions would all be considered obese and in need of immediate release.

The official obese ranking doesn’t actually mean fat. The criminals that Tlaib, AOC, Omar, Lee, and Pressley want to unleash on communities already swimming in a wave of horrifying crimes are above a recommended healthy height to weight ratio. But maybe a good exercise regimen of muggings, carjackings, and sexual assaults will get them back to their fighting weight.

How many criminals would this actually set loose?

DOJ statistics show that about half of federal and state inmates have some sort of chronic condition: 15% have asthma, 10% have heart problems, and 9% have diabetes. All of these conditions are on the Squad’s jailbreak bill’s release list. With over 2 million prison inmates, if these statistics hold up, between 200,000 to 680,000 criminals could be set loose.

But wait.

The majority of prisoners, 74%, were overweight, obese, or morbidly obese. Over a quarter hit the obese BMI numbers. That would mean freeing at least half a million fat criminals.

In addition to freeing fat criminals, Squad members also want to free “seniors”. And by “seniors” they mean any criminal who has at least reached the tender age of 55 years old.

The unabomber, the BTK killer, and the Son of Sam, all of whom are still in prison today, and over the age of 55, would qualify. Sadly Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, and Jeffrey Dahmer are no longer alive to take advantage of Tlaib, AOC, and Pressley’s generous offer to free them all.

Even those serial killers who aren’t over 55 could take advantage of the mentally ill clause.

Fat rapists and pedophiles in their fifties are supposedly more at risk from the virus, but why are depressed muggers, anxious con artists, and schizophrenic serial killers more at risk?

This isn’t about saving criminals from an imaginary threat. Socialists like freeing criminals. Stealing private property and terrorizing the public is just socialism by another name.

In addition to freeing all fat criminals, any criminal over the age of 55, and crazy criminals, the Tlaib, Pressley, and Lee bill would also free any criminals who have moderate asthma or diabetes, or can be considered diabled. Since the disabled category covers everything from back injuries to depression to irritable bowel syndrome to dermatitis, that’s a free pass.

Some 30% of criminals in federal and state prisons reported hypertension. That alone would release 600,000 criminals from prison. At this rate a criminal would have to work not to be freed.

The Squad bill also provides for freeing any criminal whom a review board determines is "unlikely to pose a substantial risk of causing bodily injury or using violent force against another individual". That would cover any inmates who weren’t convicted of physical assault.

And that would free all the thieves, robbers, drug dealers, and looters.

Countless criminals have already been freed under this category to protect them from the virus leading to plenty of violent assaults even though the criminals were said to be low risk. Not to mention massive amounts of robberies, car thefts, and the wave of Black Lives Matter looting.

Even the most modest estimates of the criminal population released would be a million.

The Dismantle Mass Incarceration for Public Health Act would also free all illegal aliens being held on an ICE detainer because not all criminals can be considered free until the violent illegal aliens being held for deportation are also released to rob, beat, and kill Americans.

How long would AOC, Omar, and Tlaib like the country's criminals to be roaming the street? The bill would apply until the President declares the "end of the COVID-19 national emergency".

Americans get two national emergencies for the price of one. If the coronavirus doesn’t get you, the criminals freed by AOC, Omar, Tlaib, Lee, Pressley, and other House Democrats will.

Democrats and their media have spent the duration of the pandemic shouting that prison inmates were most at risk of catching the virus and had to be freed immediately. If they had dedicated a fraction of the same effort to protecting another vulnerable institutionalized population, nursing home residents, the pandemic death toll would be a fraction of what it is.

Instead, New York, California, and other states freed massive numbers of criminals to protect them from the virus, while forcing nursing homes to take in infected patients resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of nursing home residents. The Democrats who claimed that keeping inmates locked up would be a death sentence, delivered an actual death sentence.

And the Democrats are still shouting we have to save the criminals before they all die.

“This pandemic should not be a death sentence for anyone,” Rep. Tlaib clamored.

"This virus should not be, and doesn’t have to be, a death sentence for incarcerated individuals," Rep. Lee whined.

So far 149 federal inmates, out of 124,538 total, have died from the virus.

Or as CBS News called the 100th federal prison death back in July, a "grim milestone".

The Los Angeles Times breathlessly reported last month that the 79th prison inmate had died of the virus in California. As of now, the number appears to be up to 88. Another “grim milestone”.

The Chicago Sun Times agonized last month that an 8th inmate had died in the Cook County jail from the virus. That’s a weekend’s worth of shootings in Chiraq by the same cast of criminals that Illinois and Cook County had dumped back on the streets to rob, rape, and kill.

More people get shot in Chicago by criminals in one weekend than the total number of criminals who have died of the virus in custody. Since many of the victims are also criminals, if the Democrats were really concerned about keeping them safe, they would keep them locked up.

Criminals are much less likely to die of coronavirus than of a bullet. Keep them safe behind bars.

The entire prison coronavirus hoax has led to countless people being killed, raped, and robbed by a rampaging population of criminals who were set loose to keep them safe from the virus.

AOC, Tlaib, Omar, and the rest of the gang want to multiply that by ten thousand times.

Murder rates are already doubling in some places. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Rep. Omar, Rep. Tlaib, and other Democrats want to see them increase a thousandfold. Even as some Democrats claim that they want to back away from pro-crime policies like police defunding, plenty of Democrats, not just the Squad, are happy to propose freeing a million criminals.

And that’s not going to change until Republicans actually tell the public what’s at stake.

The Green New Deal Comes to New York

By On May 05, 2019
A ban on skyscrapers. Wind turbines in the middle of one of the most overcrowded and noisiest cities on earth. Billions in building renovation costs. Stopping natural gas. Shutting down all the power plants.

The Green New Deal is coming to New York City.

“We are going to ban the glass and steel skyscrapers which are inefficient,” Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on MSNBC.

That was the first warning most New Yorkers got of what their radical city government had wrought.

"We're actually making the Green New Deal come alive here in New York City," the leftist mayor explained. As if anyone except for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez thought that was a good thing.

The Big Apple has no cows to ban. And without planes, it would be cut off from the rest of the planet. But its version of the Green New Deal will still find dozens of ways to make New Yorkers miserable.

Bill de Blasio claimed that the city would switch completely to ‘renewables’ in only 5 years. That would be a spectacular achievement since neither solar nor wind energy work all that well in New York.

New York ranks 47 out of 50 states in average sunlight hours at only 3.79. It’s windier than it is sunnier, but still only comes in at 28 out of 50 with an average annual windspeed of 0.05 miles per hours. Turbines need winds of 10 miles an hour to start working and city winds are not only erratic, when they blow, they come from different directions, making conventional wind energy setups all but useless.

The New York Times even noted that the city’s turbines were for show, with the builder of the city’s first wind turbine building installation admitting that they barely did anything. “On a good day, there’s maybe enough energy to power the common areas,” he said, “but we don’t get a lot of good days.”

“Our installers spend more time convincing people not to build turbines than to build them,” New York State’s turbine program director said. “The conditions really have to be ideal.”

But now there are a whole lot of mandatory wind turbines coming to New York City’s rooftops.

One of the Green New Deal bills mandates either solar panels, plants or wind turbines on roofs. There’s also a bill pushing large wind turbines. Aside from killing birds, wind turbines make lots of noise. And they have been known to catch fire or collapse. When that happens, metal can turn into shrapnel that has been known to travel for as much as a mile. Who needs terrorism when scrap metal from a badly installed wind turbine rains down on Manhattan commuters?

But that won’t stop New York’s version of the Green New Deal, the Climate Mobilization Act. The Act is a package of 10 bills, three of these include massive building retrofits, including the so-called ‘Skyscraper Ban’, that would force major revamping of even existing buildings, while also creating a loan program.

7 others call for a study on replacing the city’s 21 power plants with solar, wind and batteries, mandate turbines and solar panels on roofs, and stop a pipeline meant to bring natural gas to New York.

The skyscraper ban meanwhile targets buildings over 25,000 square feet with fines if they don’t reduce energy usage. That’s why Bill de Blasio was announcing the end of the glass and steel skyscraper.

One of De Blasio’s flunkies estimated that it would take $4 billion in work to meet those targets. That’s heavily optimistic and unrealistic. It may easily cost a hundred times that and still fail because its targets can’t be met. And the plan depends on believing that its existence will create an energy efficiency boom. The technology and financials that will enable it to work will come into being because of its existence.

But the skyscrapers aren’t actually going anywhere. Middle class housing is another matter.

If your skyscraper is using too much energy, you can offset it by buying renewable energy credits. It’s the same old scam in which a fake crisis is used to feed money to powerful green energy donors.

Meanwhile a Queens co-op of senior citizens on fixed incomes is facing climate regulation doomsday.

“To get down to even 20 percent from where I am today, with the technology that exists, there’s nothing more that I can do,” a co-op board president said. “It’s not like there’s this magic wand.”

They can dig into their fixed incomes to buy “renewable energy credits” from green billionaires.

That’s what the Green New Deal and every environmental measure comes down to. Rent seeking regs are used to steal money from the struggling middle class and put it into the pockets of wealthy lefties.

Mayor Bill de Blasio, in traditional radical fashion, is selling this as a crackdown on the skyscrapers of the wealthy. But the ugly reality is that it’s stealing money from senior citizens to give to green investors.

Stopping a natural gas pipeline won’t hurt the city’s new elites. It will be the senior citizens that will freeze. Tight energy use regulations won’t keep Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and the rest of the expat hipsters from using central air, with wind turbines on their building roofs for show, but it will mean that working class New Yorkers won’t be able to run their air conditioners in the killing summer heat.

Living in New York City already isn’t affordable. The Green New Deal will make it impossible.

These regulations will squeeze what’s left of the city’s middle class out. They will make it impossible for anyone who isn’t wealthy or on welfare to remain in New York City. That’s what they are meant to do.

“We are on the precipice of climate disaster, and New York City is acting,” City Council Speaker Corey Johnson declared.

New York City is on the precipice of disaster, but it isn’t caused by the climate, but by the Coreys.

"I remember the devastation of Hurricane Sandy like it was yesterday. There weren’t many climate change deniers left in our city. Not after that," Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted.

Hurricanes are a reality of living in the region. What made Sandy so devastating wasn’t climate change, it was the ineptness and poor planning of city, state and federal authorities who failed to prepare, provide aid or produce a plan for dealing with a natural disaster. Blackouts that took down the power grid, including hospitals, occurred because power plants had been positioned right next to the water.

New York City is still recovering from Hurricane Sandy, not because of climate, but because of government mismanagement. Instead of building an energy grid and communications infrastructure capable of coping with a hurricane, billions are being diverted into a bizarre plan to change the weather with fines and taxes. No matter how many fines and taxes are imposed, the weather will not change.

What will change is livability.

The emissions caps will dramatically raise the cost of living in New York City. It will eliminate all housing except that geared to the wealthy and the welfare class. It will also push more businesses out of the city. And that will take more jobs out of a city that already barely has an economy that benefits its residents.

Billions will flow into the companies of environmentalist donors. The targets, total renewable energy in 5 years, won’t be met. Skyscrapers will continue to be built, and the power plants will remain. The energy that powers the city will still come from oil and gas. But everyone will be obligated to buy renewable credits that have nothing to do with the actual sources of residential and commercial power.

Everyone in New York will get their power from ‘brown energy’ while paying companies in windier and sunnier states for ‘green energy’ that they will never access. And they won’t know any better.

There will be a small useless wind turbine on their roofs and some even more useless solar panels.

And, occasionally, an actual wind turbine will malfunction and take off somebody’s head. For the environment.

What Taxing the Rich Did to Warren and Ocasio Cortez's States

By On March 04, 2019
Tax time is usually an unhappy time for taxpayers, but a joyous time for government employees and the welfare class that gets more in “refunds” than it ever pays in taxes.

But this year, tax time is a depressing time for the taxmasters in the big blue states.

Blue states use high taxes to finance their frivolous spending. But this year, the money just isn’t there even as House and Senate lefties from big blue states tout new plans to soak the rich.

Senator Elizabeth Warren made headlines by building her 2020 campaign around a “wealth tax”.

Warren called it, “the 'Ultra-Millionaire Tax” and claimed that it only “applies to that tippy top 0.1% – those with a net worth of over $50 million”. That’s convenient because the millionaire class warrior’s own estimated net worth tops out at around $10 million. When millionaires like Elizabeth Warren talk about taxing wealth, they mean the wealth of the millionaires who are wealthier than they are.

But over in Warren’s Taxachusetts, soaking the rich isn’t keeping the blue state model afloat.

Massachusetts experienced a January tax revenue shortfall of $195 million. That’s down 6% from 2018. And January is the cold, snowy month that is meant to account for 10% of the revenues for the year.

December was none too cheerful either.

"While most major categories of revenue continue to perform generally as expected, Massachusetts, like a number of other states, experienced below-benchmark performance in the category of non-withheld income in both December and January, particularly in individual estimated payments," the head of the Department of Revenue announced.

“As serious as a heart attack," New York’s Governor Cuomo was much less restrained when discussing New York’s $2.3 billion plus revenue shortfall.

“This is the most serious revenue shock the state has faced in many years," State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli warned.

“Tax the rich. Tax the rich. Tax the rich. We did that. God forbid the rich leave," Cuomo groused, noting that the 1% of wealthy tax filers also pay almost half the state's income taxes. But, after tax reform, many of the rich were fleeing. Florida, with no income tax, was a commonplace destination.

New York lost almost 50,000 people last year. Florida gained over 300,000 people.

“I want to personally welcome anyone escaping high tax states to join the hundreds of thousands of their former neighbors who have already moved to Florida,” Governor Rick Scott announced last year.

“For richer people, your tax liability could have gone up now $100-, $200-, $300,000,” Governor Cuomo whined. “And there is a tipping point where people say, ‘I love New York, but to spend another $300,000 in taxes? I’ll move.’”

In the Occupy Wall Street era, Mayor Bloomberg had warned about the danger of tax hikes. “One percent of the households that file in this city pay something like 50% of the taxes. In the city, that's something like 40,000 people. If a handful left, any raise would make it revenue neutral."

His successor, Mayor Bill de Blasio, is a lazy Marxist and clueless about economics. “Brothers and sisters, there’s plenty of money in the world," he declared in his State of the City address. "There’s plenty of money in this city. It’s just in the wrong hands.”

The ‘wrong hands’ being any hands other than his pudgy manicured fingertips.

These days he’s singing a different tune.

In February, a doleful De Blasio declared that the city expects to see $935 million less in income tax revenue. That 7% drop is going to make New York City’s $92 billion budget, up $3 billion since last year, a lot more challenging. And, for the first time ever, he demanded that city agencies cut three-quarters of a billion, even as he doubled down on welfare to polish his progressive image for a presidential run.

“We have some tough choices up ahead,” he warned.

Sorry, “brothers and sisters”, suddenly there wasn’t “plenty of money in the city” anymore.

Is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who made headlines with a 70% tax rate, paying attention to her own backyard? And by that, I don’t mean New York City. The fake “Girl from the Bronx” is actually from one of the wealthiest suburbs in the country with the highest property taxes in the country. Westchester took a downgrade from its AAA rating back in the fall. Another downgrade may hit it within two years.

Home prices are falling as tax reform is hammering Westchester’s deeply flawed economic strategy. And the flawed blue state economic strategy of tax happy enclaves around the country.

New Jersey’s Department of the Treasury noted a 35% tax revenue fall. California State Controller Betty Yee reported a $2.5 billion revenue shortfall. Tax reform is in the wind. And it’s blowing away the blues.

The blue state model hollowed out the greatest cities in America by making them unlivable for the middle class. High taxes in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and countless other cities have turned them into enclaves in which you either need to be rich or on welfare to be able to live in them. And that has made the blue state model precariously dependent on a small and very wealthy tax base.

Lefty politicians solve everything by spending more money and raising taxes on the wealthy. Tax reform made that an unsustainable strategy because, suddenly, red state taxpayers weren’t covering blue state tax bills. And that revealed just how hollow and vulnerable the blue state economic model really is.

When you don’t have a middle class, then the tax burden falls on a very small and mobile population. Unlike the middle class, which is tethered more tightly to jobs and single homes, the sorts of people that progressives are obsessed with taxing are a less stable tax base because they are fewer and freer.

The flip side of class warfare is that your targets can fight back by leaving and leaving you with nothing.

Senator Elizabeth Warren and other blue staters want to take the same failed model nationwide. Their fantasies of a massive national tax hike try to escape the limitations of tax reform by imposing taxes that no one can escape by moving to Florida. Lefties love telling us that we should learn from Europe.

It’s a pity that they never do.

France tried out a tax on the ‘super-rich’. And they packed up and left. The failed state which has the highest tax rates in the modern world is losing its tax base. 10,000 millionaires left France in 2015. 6% of Parisian millionaires got out. 12,000 millionaires left in 2016. Many moved to the US and to the UK.

Socialists, as Britain’s Margaret Thatcher had observed, “always run out of other people’s money.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez want to take the same high taxes that devastated Massachusetts and New York nationwide. The blue state model wrecked blue states.

Now the wreckers of Massachusetts and New York want to wreck America.
