Especially the last one of a hooding ceremony:( Mine, held the night before graduation, held biblical significance but the left has twisted even something as beautifully symbolic as a hooding ceremony.

My hood was golden/yellow representing nursing. This column goes straight for the higher education jugular. However, it's the whole "public education" scam that has morphed into what for many has been a sixteen-year sentence of indoctrination, with grade school, high school, and college campuses serving as reeducation camps to purge kids of whatever remnant of intelligence, reason and common sense may remain in them after kindergarten. This is government policy, encouraged by a mandated kaleidoscope of political agendas, such as cultural diversity, gender relations (and diversity), anti-American and anti-Western "social studies" (once called "history"), superficial glossing over any of the sciences, the inculcation of the importance of "volunteerism" or public service, and just the general deliberate, conscious breeding of future tax cows and serve-society-serfs. Aided and abetted by entrenched teachers' unions and the NEA and the Department of Education.

The Department of Education has roots going back to 1838, but by the 1860's was beginning to emerge as a power in the federal government. By the 1970's it officially became an organ and arm of federal education policies with full authoritarian powers of enforcement. Read it here, in the Department's own propaganda:

http://www2.ed.gov/about/overview/fed/role.html

My formal education ended in the eighth grade after eight years in a parochial school. My four years in a public high school were a waste of time. I reply to colleagues and acquaintances who boast of their college degrees that, well, fine, I still have all my marbles, because I never subjected myself to "higher education." But then I had my own purpose for living and my own goals to achieve, and in modern education, those are no-no's, unless your purpose is to live for others and achieve approved "social goals."

So, I'm proud that I don’t have a college degree. Not pursuing one saved my sanity and my life. I didn't need a degree to write novels or make independent judgments of the world around me.Edward Clinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12160209827969614964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-72745863718415667692012-05-16T12:15:02.312-04:002012-05-16T12:15:02.312-04:00Seven years ago I heard Obama deliver a pro-union ...Seven years ago I heard Obama deliver a pro-union rally speech in Galesburg, Illinois. They are also well read. The West built it's prosperity on men like these. That they are conservative by temperament goes without saying. Which is why those who now hold sway so fear them and have created an underclass of debt ridden college "graduates".dave snoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-69524373258154378332012-05-16T04:15:41.461-04:002012-05-16T04:15:41.461-04:00Especially we Jews have always seen "a better...Especially we Jews have always seen "a better education"as the optimum for our children. Society absorbed this Jewish ideal but turned it into idol worshipping by not seeing that the mind should reach up to a higher level to master the knowledge rather than the education stoop down to all, independent of their ability, of those that strive for it.mindRiderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12160934421830568737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-64125841581487798812012-05-16T00:17:22.786-04:002012-05-16T00:17:22.786-04:00Sultan, great article as always.
