Basically, it explained how so many of the good-hearted masses were unknowingly doing the work of the Ultra-Leftists.

There is a spectrum of people from the Satanic Left to the rigid conservative Right. Mixed in you have various people with various attitudes. Your piece covered a small segment of the spectrum.

Since you seem to indicate that you are from a religious background, you likely know that these people place their emunah (belief) in G-ds hands. What we do is not meaningful, since the outcome is pre-ordained. The only question is who will actually do the dirty work. The Bible says that Egypt was to enslave the Jews. If that is the case, then they have to right to argue that they were doing G-ds will and therefore not be punished. So why were they punished? The answer given is that they went overboard.

For Religious Jews there is a feeling that all will be OK. They feel there fight can best be done by learning in a School (Kolel). They feel that this will place a spiritual cloak around those who chose to join the Army.

Then there are those that despise the government. They view the political landscape as anti-Jewish. So why are there so many religious parties? These are not parties in the usual sense of the term. They are insulated groups that seek to care for the own (they will share are argue with other group as the situation dictates).

When these parties sell their vote for money they see little wrong since the ultimate decider is G-d. In the mean time they can fund their needs. (Think how the left chokes when giving this money.) This is technically better then some of the left wing people that only line their own pockets.

What about the dangers and that fact that a country needs to have a standing Army? There is the story told of someone who lived in a bad area during the time o f the Temple. He decided to leave his house and go up to the Temple as required. His neighbors were salivating in expectation that they would steal everything from the house. Upon return he found everything intact. He was told that the moment he had left a large lion had appeared by his gate. Just moments before his return the lion finally left. This is how these Jews think. To them salvation would come instantaneously if we all would turn to G-d and rely on Him only. Of course, there is another story about a man who was on a sinking ship. First a boat came along, but the fellow refused, because he knew that G-d would save him. Then a helicopter came, but he refused again. Finally the boat sank and he went to heaven. There he complained that G-d should have saved him. G-d said, I sent a boat but you said no and then I sent a helicopter and you said no. What do you want from me?

The conflicting points of view that you describe are the conflict between these to stories. Which story is the true Jewish way? In the Talmud we say that both opinions are the way of G-d. How and when you apply each opinion is the only variable. Right now taking money to provide a religious education, especially for the less religious, is often the bigger value issue. (At least we do not teach them to become martyrs like some other people do.)

The real missing link in Israel is the lack of a “secular” conservative party that the masses of non-religious people can vote for. These people will not vote for religious parties. Unlike in other countries the religious/conservative parties are fairly secular. So non-religious people can vote for a right wing party without fear. But, in Israel conservative and religious is closely associated. The closest thing to a secular right wing party is Likud. And, we know what that means. Don’t forget the Likud front-runner is Bibi who gave much of Chevron away.

The shocking thing is that the next election will likely produce the same results. Let us not forget that much of the people did not vote. Imagine what could have happened if all those people who refused to vote had come out for an alternative party. By not voting for a centrist or leftist party they would have voted for a right wing party. But, there just isn’t one to vote for. And, there still isn’t one to vote for. So watch and see if the leftist philosophy isn’t in power for many more years. Which spells further problems for the Jewish State.

One final point to make is that the Satanic Left very much wants to disprove the Bible. By destroying the Bible they will prove that religion is meaningless. Much of the Bible believers view Israel as part of Biblical Prophecies (Jewish State, ingathering, etc.). By compromising the Jewish State these people will be able to prove that the Bible is false. They know that the so-called two States for two people is an non-starter. There real hope a non-sectarian State with a Jewish minority. A place were the irreligious masses will have personal freedom protected. But, it would not be a Jewish entity or a safe haven for Jews in need. This will result is mass abandonment of the Bible. The Muslim has little to fear since they hold that the Bible is a corruption of the Koran. Islam’s gain will strengthen their beliefs. So the anti-Bible forces easily have formed a temporary friendship with the Arabs. Once the world is divided between Atheism and Islam the real war of the world will begin.

Once again, I am sorry for being so long winded.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-89520105979543305652007-07-09T14:36:00.000-04:002007-07-09T14:36:00.000-04:00todah yesha, the same divisions giving different s...todah yesha,

the same divisions giving different segments and communities their separate identity, am within am, are also dividing and destroying us

I do not personally correspond people with offline but thank you for your gracious offer

thank you again for your friendship,

danielDaniel Greenfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13575285186581875356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-77253279831063848292007-07-09T14:35:00.000-04:002007-07-09T14:35:00.000-04:00thank you k.a. just glad people understand what i ...thank you k.a. just glad people understand what i had in mindDaniel Greenfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13575285186581875356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-9162091960948120472007-07-09T14:34:00.000-04:002007-07-09T14:34:00.000-04:00yes Yo and in that way minchag becomes more ikkar ...yes Yo and in that way minchag becomes more ikkar than torah itself unfortunatelyDaniel Greenfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13575285186581875356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-65450165690036663742007-07-09T14:25:00.000-04:002007-07-09T14:25:00.000-04:00I loved this post! I see the divisions and the self-imposed segregations that you see. Such "clannish" behaviour promotes ostracism, fosters division, and defeats us prior to our ever taking the field. To paraphrase Eric Blair's (Orwell's)words: "Picture our own boot stomping on our own face, forever." Ahh, but our G-D will put a stop to that! I pray that more of us cease it first.

I wish to correspond with you more in-depth. I also wish to help support your efforts to write/maintain your site;I do not use credit cards.
