The wanton finality of it was stunning. And nothing was done about it. Nothing. The game was over at that point. That is to say, the Game is finished.

The ball, in any game, is a metaphor for power. In their view, the progressives didn't just win the game in 2008, they won the historical final game---the Big Game. That is to say, in their view they won ownership, i.e. permanent control, of the ball.

So it's half-time in America, is it? Well this isn't a "real" game this time. At best it's a pre-season game. A contrived revenue opportunity for the owners and networks. And rumor has it that lock-outs and strikes are likely before the real season begins.

So it's half-time, is it? Well, the ball is in team progressive's locker room with them, which is odd, to say the least. What will President-elect Obama elect to do about the rest of 2012? He'll forfeit if need be, leaving the stadium with the ball in his possesion; and encourage the thuggish rowdies who occupy the stands to swarm the playing field in rage.

Senator Obama may or may not be voted President-elect once again---it's not about him, per se, it's not even about whatever he elects to do with the remainder of his President-elect-cy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-83864452206986914072012-02-08T14:50:29.124-05:002012-02-08T14:50:29.124-05:00I don’t know what it is about Hollywood types, reg...I don’t know what it is about Hollywood types, regardless of gender or profession, that they are, with very few exceptions, utterly clueless and ignorant. Hollywood has been under the Left’s thumb (or shall we say, fist) for decades. That would partly explain why nearly every actor who opens his mouth on political, environmental, economic, and social issues sounds like a blubbering halfwit. This goes for directors and producers, too. But I don’t think Hollywood’s Leftist permanent palsy can explain the phenomena. Perhaps it’s the mandatory union membership for every job in Hollywood, from gofer to director. Eastwood has read and produced enough scripts that he ought to have immediately seen that the Chrysler script was an Obama pep-talk script, and begged off. Or perhaps he isn’t as smart and savvy as I once thought he was. But his doing the Chrysler ad was “unforgiveable.”Edward Clinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12160209827969614964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-85926437319687034972012-02-08T13:09:16.617-05:002012-02-08T13:09:16.617-05:00Pshhhhh, Daniel! I’ve been arguing with friends about whether or not the Chrysler ad was “political.” When I first watched it on other blog sites (I’m not a football fan so didn’t watch the Super Bowl), my jaw dropped. It was a propaganda-style pep talk, probably shot in a locker room to judge by Eastwood’s interior shots.

Eastwood is now claiming that the ad wasn’t “political” and that he’s not an Obama man. Well, he is now. He ought to have read the Chrysler script more closely, and he’d have seen the “Hope and Change” message in it. He’s also claimed that he’s donated his fee to charity. Which one? But Obama could have lip-synced Eastwood in the ad, or the other way around. It wouldn’t have mattered. It was an Obama campaign ad. Eastwood implicitly endorsed Obama in that ad. He sold out.

Actually, Eastwood "sold out" with that shameless remake of > "Shane," called "Pale Rider." As a maker of Westerns, he ought to have respected "Shane" enough to keep his hands off of it. But he went and substituted the gunfighter with a traveling minister-gunfighter, substituted the hero-worshipping boy with a loopy teenage girl, and the sheep rancher with a moronic gold prospector, who subsequently gets himself gunned down by a gang of cloned "deputies" when he drunkenly shoots his mouth off in town. He also did his bit for the environmentalists in that movie by substituting the cattle rancher with the gold hunters with their high-powered hoses that were destroying the "environment." Then there were those stupid "Clyde" orangutan movies of his. Yes, "The Unforgiven" was his penultimate sell-out, and it got him an Oscar. Eastwood is a man "who didn't know his limitations."

Remember that opening scene in the first “Dirty Harry” movie? “Feeling lucky, punk?” Well, the “punk” is Obama, he was “lucky,” and Dirty Harry let him go.
