"Forever", unless the Muslim thinks he can defeat his opponent, in which case he'll throw the treaty, etc. into the garbage immediately. To a Muslim any agreement or signed treaty isn't worth the paper it's written on.Irwin Ruffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-24532281663466053272012-05-31T10:09:22.080-04:002012-05-31T10:09:22.080-04:00It sounds like Leahy wants to turn Baqa'a into...It sounds like Leahy wants to turn Baqa'a into a US protectorate or something along those lines.

KeliataAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-22604765058388298372012-05-31T08:20:22.760-04:002012-05-31T08:20:22.760-04:00"Once upon a time we had Patrick Henry, today..."Once upon a time we had Patrick Henry, today we have Senator Patrick Leahy, who declared in the Senate that his opposition to an amendment that would distinguish how much of the UNRWA's funding goes to actual refugees versus fake refugees was a patriotic act."

I'll cut to the chase here. Having written about Patrick Henry, Jefferson, and other Founders in my Sparrowhawk novels, I grit my teeth every time I read of some mental midget like Patrick Leahy claiming that continuing our overseas welfare state is some brand of "patriotism." And what have ever been our foreign aid policies but the domestic welfare state extended beyond our shores, in which productive, wealth-creating Peters are lawfully robbed to support parasitical, wealth-consuming Pauls, no questions asked of the Peters and deference paid to the "lifestyles" of countless Pauls? I include in the parasitical class not only anonymous, rank-and-file Muslims, but all the "burnoosed" and Western-suited monarchies and régimes in the Mideast, and in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and all their corrupt, bureaucratic welfare-hustlers.

Welfare statism is as much a corrupter as is power. Once you insist that it's one's moral duty to support others by skimming and scamming the wealthy, and then the middle class, and then the "poorer" classes, there is no limit to what you may deem worthy of support. Altruism knows no boundaries, and government-enforced altruism knows of no class undeserving of redistributed wealth, except for those who produce it. The metaphysical premise of welfare statists is that wealth is produced "somehow," and if government regulations inhibit wealth-production, we, the producers, will think of something to counter the regulations and produce anyway. The epistemological premise of welfare statists "spreading the wealth around," even a little bit, satisfies a moral imperative to make things "fairer" or more "equitable," and even socially "just." And the "little bit" grows incrementally until it consumes – and the parasites consume – about 50% of what the IRS deems "earned income."

That is altruism in action.Edward Clinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12160209827969614964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-75302334789789001352012-05-31T00:39:32.341-04:002012-05-31T00:39:32.341-04:00I think it's more likely the left's campai...I think it's more likely the left's campaign to report conservative sites as spam.Daniel Greenfieldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13575285186581875356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11368628.post-27046899754931032842012-05-31T00:31:40.204-04:002012-05-31T00:31:40.204-04:00Just thought you should know, Mr Greenfield: Faceb...Just thought you should know, Mr Greenfield: Facebook is blocking your URL and preventing me from linking this story.
