Home Don't Despair, Fight

Don't Despair, Fight

There are two types of defeatism percolating through the GOP and the ranks of conservatives.

One is the familiar form of establishment defeatism. The election is over. Let's concede, and move on.

And against that, the response is plain and clear. Conceding to fraud and a rigged election, listening to transparently phony calls for unity from the socialist party that has been toppling America's Founders and burning cities, while declaring that anyone who isn't one of them is a bigot, is not an option.

Elections are not settled by the media.

Conservatives, and all Americans, have a duty to fight for a free and fair election, and for the process that ensures that it's free and fair.

It's not those who refuse to concede who are endangering free and fair elections, but those who insist that when the media calls an election, then there's nothing more to say and no further process to follow.

That's an un-American attitude.

The conservatives fighting to verify the election and the vote are following the process. Those trying to concede to the media are violating the process and putting an unelected partisan bunch of corporations in charge of determining elections.

Fighting is American. It's in the best traditions of America. Conceding is un-American.

But the other comes from the most passionate parts of the movement which is that there will never be another election. The country is finished. It's all over.

That's why, earlier, I posted my old response to Obama's takeover from 12 years ago.

If Biden does end up taking over, it will be bad. The eight years of Obama were bad. And this would be his third term with a more radicalized party, base, and country at his back.

The Obama administration spied on political opponents, both for information purposes, Watergate style, and to generate criminal prosecutions, and it used the IRS to target them.

Take that as a starting point for any Biden administration.

It doesn't mean that America is over. What it will mean is that there are hard times and a hard fight ahead. But that fight is only hopeless if we decide it is.

When you look at California or New York, you see massive abuses and fraud, yes, but you also see Republican parties that have largely given up, and conservatives that are animated by national issues, but pay little attention to local ones. That's not true across the board, but there's some truth to it.

I've spoken to plenty of Los Angeles conservatives in the last few weeks who had strong views on the national election, but little interest in the local elections and how they would affect them, who had no idea or interest in the Republican candidates running, or most of the measures except those that would affect them personally. Multiply that a million times and you end up with a one-party state.

It's a two-way street.

Democrats seize enough power to demoralize Republicans, and then the Republicans do the rest of the job for them. There's still anger and passion, but it's not directed anywhere productive.

We can't let that happen to America.

There will be elections. We haven't reached the terminating line where that stops. But how soon we reach that line also depends on us.

Contesting this election is vital. If it's lost, then things will be bad. Really bad. But they won't be over.

They'll only be over if we give up.

If you're shaking your head at that, remember that there are still people in Venezuela and Iran protesting in the streets. There are still people fighting in Hong Kong, China and Russia. And as bad as it can get under socialist rule here, we still have quite a few years until it's as bad as Europe. Never mind Venezuela.

What's important is not giving up. Not on this election or on this country.

It's not over.

It's not over until we decide it is.

  1. Excellent post.

The Whigs are sifting the tea leaves to see which way the wind blows. The fact Conservatives did so well in the Congressional races would seem to be proof the second variety may also be on its way out.

I'd add there's a third type. the ones who always whine how we can never win. How the fix is in. The fix was in until we threw it out.

Same thing now. Way past time the Democrats were exposed and the right side won an election.

    But I love the title.

    DON'T DESPAIR, FIGHT

    Abso-freakin'-lutely.

Great, Daniel! I too think REAL Americans have the
moxie to persevere. We’ve endured Wilson, FDR, LBJ,
and BO; each targeting our very souls. We’ve seen
the raw guts of Trump. Being confident agents of
our own victories leads each of us to success, no
matter our leftist designated victim/villain tribe.

We have so much pride in common; let that be our
battle flag. As Andrew Breitbart would say; get
our culture in order, and politics will follow.

  4. Who is going to call for mass protest on our side until a fair and legal election is delivered? Who is going to call and organize thousands of truckers to shut down all roads to Philadelphia until the fraud is exposed and reversed? The only way Republicans can salvage this is to fight and get their supporters to fight.

I like your attitude, however, I’ve come to the conclusion that in a deep blue state like California, which is where I reside, no conservative can run right now with an R after their name. We will need to run on our values and ideas but - and I hate to say this - the D would help them with the possibility to squeak across the finish line. I have other experience with this also because my brother ran for Oregon State Senate... better qualified, smarter, and more experience in exactly all the fields needed to fill the role well, but the mediocre man with the D after his name won it. The majority of people on the West coast will only vote for the person with the D. Otherwise, not enough of them pay attention to the issues they literally just and only care about the letter after the name. For many in deep blue states it’s sacrilege to vote Republican. They will never ever even consider it.

I alternately cringe and rage when I hear/see "President-elect Biden." It is repeated and repeated until it's accepted as true. To give us the message big-time, there's a celebration (with fireworks yet) and a 'transition committee' who today put their hand out for millions in transition funds & the keys to the Federal buildings they plan to take over. Wonder if *Doctor* B has ordered her inauguration wardrobe.

  11. I called the local CBS station here after their idiotic news team talked about "president Elect Biden." I let the station manager know that the MEDIA does not call the election and that she needs to properly train her TV people to not speak in such a way that indicates the election HAS been called!! It's in litigation and people are investigating the fraud that was CLEARLY done!! And I ended the call by saying "How DARE you not have well trained people who appear on camera and talk as if they KNOW something that they DON'T know! START TRAINING, Susan!!!" Boy was I ever fighting back on that! Yes this is back woods Oregon, but news programs should stress ACCURACY instead of letting their people spew stupidity!!

thanks for the advice, Daniel. This whole thing has been very frustrating! Do we go into battle with the crooked Democrats?? Remember, in the year 2000, they changed the Democrat color to be BLUE and made Republicans RED, just like Cloward & Pivins teach Communists/Marxists to do = accuse the others of what THEY'RE doing! .... Right, Dorrie! I was enraged in 2000 when
the media blithely used Communist RED for
      Republican! Nobody seemed to notice.

First off, let me say I think Trump will he the winner. Next I'll say I think Democracy as it currently looks, is over. Or should be over. If Trump is still fit enough to run at the end of his 8 years, I'm all for him staying if he wishes, or personally selecting the next president.
The elections, unless revamped entirely, are bogus - and until Trump (who was not an establishment politician and not bought to lobby for anyone) came along, the candidates have been bogus too - and probably will be again. Returning all to the slow degradation as it was before. Clearly there are cheaters and liars everywhere, especially on the Democratic side, and in the media. But we all know they existed in the Republican party too, and some may be on board now, but dont forget that the rejected Trump too, in 2016 .

  18. I must have missed all the ACTIVE RESITANCE going on ...

From where I sit, I see conservatives opting for well paid wage slave status over actually physically resisting this coup.

The capacity of humans to delude themselves in times of crisis is nothing short of amazing.

Conservatives these days happy to acquiesce to the Left, if only incrementally - rather like kicking the can down the road for the next person to address.

As repulsive as Marxists are, they possess one thing conservatives lots decades ago - COMMITMENT - they don't care about going to jail or taking on the bodyguards of the elites, AKA law enforcement.
